Just came across this thread. I installed my lift and tires in September and I have the growling/vibration. It started when I put my truck in 4wheel drive for the first time after I put lift in. Ever since then I have the vibration and when I switch it to 4 wheel it comes back.
Without reading through all 202 pages, any one have any ideas on what the issue is and what can be done for it to be fixed.

I had the infamous rumble on my 2015 tacoma. I took it in to the stealership (Pedersen in Fort Collins, CO) and no questions asked, they warrantied it (not stock - 3" icon stage 1, 33's). Its been about 7k miles without a peep. Just my experience.

Had the ECGS bushing installed today. $300 install with new seal, front diff flush and fill included, didn't have to purchase the removal or install tool. Best price I could find in my area. Wow, what a difference. Sure nice to be riding smooth again!

I am new to this site as well. Bought my first Tacoma about a year ago used, 2012 trd 4x4 with 27k miles on it, now have 38k miles. For my birth day about two weeks ago my girlfriend bought me from a local shop a rough country 3 inch lift kit with install. Have had bad vibrations since the install so I took it back to the shop today and they are telling me now their is a bad leak coming from the cv area and that the side carriage bearings are bad on the drivers side and need to be replaced. Of course they will do it for about $900. I'm thinking of just having them take the lift back off, then taking it to Toyota to fix the issue with the bearings. Really sucks.

The shop that did the lift is also telling me now that the worn out bearings and leak didn't come from the lift. That they were already worn out. At 38k miles I think they are just trying to cover their you know what. I took it to Toyota and the shop told me that the lift is to high for the truck and causing binding of the drive terrain. GRRRR

It does go away in 4wd . Is it better to just take the lift off and get the bearings fixed so as to not have this problem again in the future? The shop that did the lift is stating that if I let them keep the lift on and replace the part they will guarantee it won't happen again . Also should I have the ecsg bushing installed instead? Any more feed back on the bushing?

My truck is lifted. I developed the problem, kept my lift, and had the drivers side needle bearing replaced with the ECGS bushing. Problem solved. Lift intact. I would keep the lift and get the ECGS bushing installed. If you don't want to do it yourself, find a shop to do the install. Mine was $300, but many here have had it done for less (or done it theirselves).

You could try to go the TSB route. But your dealership may deny the repair since your truck is lifted. If you take the lift off, the vibration may disappear...once again, no free repair, plus you'd have to pay for the lift removal and re-install. So it should be cheaper to just get the ECGS busing installed and keep your lift.

Read through pages of this thread and search ECGS bushing on this forum. The people on this forum know their stuff. The ECGS bushing solves the vibration issue long-term.

    Just did the ECGS install.

I have the tool available ($30 shipped). PM me if interested.

Getting the CV axle in and out was a pain in the ass. The ECGS tool worked great though.

Really appreciate the feedback guys. I will talk to the shop on Tuesday and see if they can do the bushing install for me. I will also call ecgs and see if they recommend me ordering any other new parts like bearings to make sure it's successful.
