2017 Tacoma and Consumer Reports

Not in the least my friend, just an observation.

 

I wonder if the 2016 poor reliability surveys in those publications has to do with the numerous owners left stranded because of the failing CPS issues. We were averaging one or two a week reported on the forum in the dead heat of summer last year.

 

When that happens on here the White Knights yell that its only 1 out of 200,000 Trucks, so should the same standard not apply to the F150 and say its only 1 out of 2 Million?

 

I am sure that did not help

 

How can you actually observe or prove this, or rather a biased guess maybe ?

My guess is we will see a few more CPS go belly up this summer too.

 

No bias whatsoever, its a simple fact that the majority of people here do not own Colorado's or Ridgelines.

 

There were others through out the rest of the year, but the summer time saw a higher frequency. Owners complained that dealers had a backorder on spare CPS' which could have hinted that the problem was more widespread.

 

If you remember, it was numerous enough for Toyota to redesign the sensor.

Edit: I'm assuming they were back ordered because they were caught with their pants down. No reason to make an extra ## for a brand new truck... so they didn't have the stock.

So I guess what we can walk away knowing here is the CR article was based on CPS and tranny issues that are resolved, therefore the article has no merit anymore really, probably why the 2017 wasn't included.
Good to know all was taken care of.

Auto tranny issues aren't resolved. People still complain post TSB

 

ie we have no idea really. Everyone grabs at straws. I say 2, smit says 10,000.
