Last I checked HF didn't engage in predatory real estate practices. Don't insult HF by comparing them to wacko world :D

I saw that too. The boards are not uniform in length from the lumber yard. You would think half of 8' would be 4'. No! You get some change!

I'll keep people posted if it sells quickly.

That's what I do as well. Though part of me is thankful when they stop working.

So this thing has been getting used pretty regularly and it hasn't missed a beat. It seems to be burning grease fairly rapidly though. It says to "change grease monthly" but it seems to be consuming the grease instead so I dunno :notsure:

Today was one of the hate days for me. Installing nutserts on the Airstream. Killed 3 of the HF nutsert tools on a grand total of 10 nutserts. At $20, you'd think it would last more than a couple uses since it comes with 30+ nutserts. Taking the 3rd one back to get a refund and going to buy a $$$ one.

FWIW I've got their and it seems to be OK. It is of a different design than the one in the "kit" and is sold as just the tool, no inserts...

    Here's my Harbor Freight story....

About 15 years ago, I worked in the IT dept. at Milwaukee Electric Tool in Brookfield...when they still actually made tools there. A couple of the super nice perks of working for them was great discounts on Milwaukee tools, and the fact that there was a company tool crib, where one could check out tools for weekend projects, free of charge.

I had a bunch of friends over for the weekend and we built a new deck on my house. I had checked out all sorts of tools so everyone would be well equipped and the build would go quickly. I had also purchased some tools, one of which was a cordless 18V drill.

The drill took a fall from one of the deck railings, about a 6 foot drop. Cracked the case and it worked kind of wonky for a while before giving up entirely.

I replaced it with a cheap cordless drill from Harbor Freight that I spent about $20 on. The following summer, I built a cabin on some land up north that I purchased. Dropped the drill off the roof. Twice. Worked fine for many years afterward.

My feeling on Harbor Freight stuff is that if I were a contractor and had to use the tools everyday, I wouldn't buy them there. But for weekenders like myself, most of their stuff is just fine. I've had their compound mitre saw for a decade. Of course, I use it very sporadically.

I got one for my at the time 9-year-old grandson a couple Christmases ago--IIRC it was $20 with a "super coupon". It was worth $20 I guess, I remember the crescent wrench was crappy and everything else kind of clunky and chunky...

I don't have that set, but do have the 300 piece set. If I turned wrenches for a living, I might not be as excited about it. But I don't period for the money I spent on it with a coupon I am more than happy with them. I have had no issues with any of the tools, except for the few that I've lost.

How accurate are the cuts from the Harbor Freight mitre saw? I have a cheap hand-me-down Craftsman that I can't get to cut true no matter how much I adjust it. Been debating on whether to splurge on the Dewalt. I'm just a weekend warrior DIYer and woodworker but it's frustrating as hell when cuts aren't quite where you want them.

If you want exact, don't get HF. Dewalt ftw.

I got so many of those. Rope and/or triangle light would be nice.

I used the 12in one to cut all the laminate for my house. No issues. All you need is the 80t blade. I did all baseboard moulding too.
