I'm getting ready to install the 5100 bilisteins on my 2nd generation... I'm wanting to set them at the high as they can go..
The real springs have had the tsb done on them.. With the upgrated springs would I still need a add a leaf so the front doesnt get higher in rear??? Thank

Setting them on the highest setting will not yield a very good ride.

I would suggest the second clip from the top and see how that matches the rear first

You could always buy a taller coil and leave the 5100s set at '0' for a better ride

You're going to need an AAL for sure if you're looking to lift 2.5" in the front (highest clip). You are likely going to be disappointed in the ride though.

Absolutely this! OP, you're looking to have your shock do the lifting AND the damping. By the time you have 2.5"s worth of preload on your stock spring the ride will be VERY rough.
Do yourself a favor and do it right the first time. Use 5100s and a longer coil like the OME 885x. The clip will be set at 0" and you'll have plenty of lift up front with a smooth ride. I'd also recommend an aftermarket UCA that will correct the caster after the lift, such as the JBA ball joint uppers.

@dziner has some experience here as this is what he runs. Smooth ride without absolutely breaking the bank.

I measured my truck last night (Stock TRD OR DCSB with TSB leafs) and there was a 1.5" difference front to rear. If you do end up going all the way on the stock coils (I hope you dont) your front end will be 1.25" taller than your rear or there abouts. You need a AAL or leaf pack to level it back out. Also, without upper control arms at the top setting your truck will wander pretty bad set at 2.75.

Regarding measurements, here are the measurements I took of my truck before/after the Bilstein 5100/885/AAL/tires lift.

Before: 2014 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road with BFG 265/70 R16 tires
After: Bilstein 5100's front/rear, OME 885 springs front, Wheeler's 1/4 driver side spacer, JBA UCA (not that it matters), Wheeler's 1.5" add-a-leaf in the rear, Cooper S/T Maxx 265/75 R16 tires.

Front driver side ground to fender:
    • Before: 34"
    • After: 37.5" (so much for the driver side lean)
Front driver side center of hub to fender:
    • Before: 20"
    • After: 22.5"
Front passenger side ground to fender:
    • Before: 34.25"
    • After: 38"
Front passenger side center of hub to fender:
    • Before: 20.5"
    • After: 23.5"
Rear driver side ground to fender:
    • Before: 35"
    • After: 37.25"
Rear driver side center of hub to fender:
    • Before: 21"
    • After: 22.25"
Rear passenger side ground to fender:
    • Before: 35"
    • After: 37.5"
Rear passenger side center of hub to fender:
    • Before: 21"
    • After: 22.5"
    Lower front skid plate:
    • Before: 9"
    • After: 12"
More info including every item used for my lift, links, and prices is over on my thread.
