So I always do this with my vehicles. I buy them, build them up, and then try to create a build thread after the fact and just have to play catch up. Looks like this one is no different. I'll do my best to update in order.

I've always loved the looks of the Tacoma's and always wanted one. I always had Jeeps in the past, but finally broke the mold when I got the Tacoma. I've never been happier. By no means is this going to be the most exciting build, but figured some of you guys would enjoy. The fact of it being a "small but mighty truck" is what dubbed its name of TonkaTaco.

    Bought my truck December 2013. It's a 2006 Regular Cab 4 cyl 5 speed.

At the dealership when I first fell in love with it. Chrome had to go though.

I went back up at night just to creep on it some more.IMG_3473.jpg

This is what I traded in, one of my Jeeps.

It snowed within the first few days of me owning it, so I had to see what it could do. Took it out for a drive.

    Then the fun began.

Plasti-Dipped the bottom portion of the bumper and then found a good deal on some wheels on Craigslist to get rid of the god awful chrome. Funny story, the wheels sat in my garage until I got new tires like 2 years later.

I quickly found out/realized how much the lack of space sucked. Haha This was back in my delivery days, but I still struggle with the space issue at times.

I got a little Plasti-Dip happy... didn't stay like this for too long though. I'm just not a fan of all the chrome.

Few random pictures before the real fun actually started, lift, bumper, tires, etcetera.

Buddies JK is on 42's, makes my truck look like a lowrider.

Then the fun stuff began. :bananadance: Buddy bought an OME kit and sold me his pieced together lift. A lift was a lift and I was eager to get it done regardless. I'm looking at changing it now though, but I'll get to that once I get caught up.

Of course once it was lifted I had to start to take random pictures of it, especially next to other vehicles.

I have a trip to Moab planned in May and still have the stock rear bumper. I figured with ledges and all it would be better to have a high clearance. So I contacted Relentless Fab to see what the lead time was for the high clearance rear and they told me 15-16 weeks! I knew it was going to be long, but not that long!
