And unless you work for Toyota and can show us supplier invoices, you have no proof that Toyota "sources most all of the parts from the same places the first gen received them"

Unless it's painfully obvious trolling or turns into total meltdown mode with personal attacks flying....usually the mods let the bitch threads continue with equity. Just my experience.

When I started to Look at Truck, the Chevy Colorado was my first choice. I drove the 2017 LT Chevy 4-door AT and for ~$32000 it felt cheap. The 8spd auto shifted constantly and really did not like it nor the fit and finish. Toyota's have a great reputation, so I went 1 mile down the road and test drove the 17 DCSB 6sp manual. I went home truckless, but loved the yota. I VERY briefly looked at Honda and walked off the lot. We all know my choice. I do not believe Toyota rested and to this day I would take it over my 2017 Taco over my cousins 2014 DCLB auto Gen2. He would too, just can't make the switch right now.

Overall in my personal opinion, looking at the current mid-size segment the Taco wins hands down.

1 guy, are you serious? So that means every Ford is a POS? (note I don't like Fords)

So using that logic, the thread posted on the forums about some guys differential blowing up after 25K means EVERY Tacoma is a POS?

That's really what you are saying here using your insinuation about the quality of Fords based on 1 guy.

Right on. I had similar complaints until recently. My tranny finally learned to shift for the way I drive. I also never use the ect button. Oh and I've been using mid grade gas which may or may not help.

As far as slow. On my way to ski the other day I was going about 70mph right at 3k rpms up a 10-15% grade and I passed a Tahoe and a Duramax and a couple of sedans. My truck didn't skip a beat. I'm not sure why your truck is slow, maybe the way you drive?

70 mph up a slight grade at 3k rpms seems awful labored to me

I haven't had any issues either, you just need to get on the gas pedal as far as I can tell. It's a truck. Definitely doesn't have the throttle response of a rwd sports car, but as far as trucks go, is more than adequate.

My experience may be different, my truck was built in January of this year (in Texas).

Was the rear differential howling when you achieved this passing speed and 3k rpm range, I have heard this happens sometimes......

Yeah I am serious. If you go to the F-150 forums I am sure there are ass-hat negativity mongers there too. My point is there is no perfect vehicle.
