OK, so I am going to be starting my Satoshi mod this week. I'm trying to decide whether to do the Satoshi on a chrome grille or painted grille. Right now my truck has a chrome grille, but I also have an unpainted grille that I've considered either color matching Barcelona Red or painting black.

Here's a couple of pics of my truck with my rims so you can get an idea of the color scheme. Door handles will be Barcelona Red soon, too.

Well, you already have a chrome grill + bumper + there's chrome on your wheels... So I'd say unless your planning on getting rid of all that chrome, Use your chrome grill for the Satoshi. It'll match better..

I personally like the look of the color matched grilles much better and would say to go that direction. I'd love to find a color matched silver grille and satoshi it myself.
Then again it seems like most of the satoshi grilles you see are either color matched or flat black, so it might make it a little more unique looking.

Take a look at the pics below. The grill is just a Grillcraft, but it gives you some idea of what the BR color matched looks like with silver wheels.

I am about to start my grille work on my Barcelona Red Tacoma. Thought long and hard on keeping my grille surround chrome or color match. I'm going with leaving the surround chrome. Looks better than the color matched IMO.... :D

Alot of it just comes down to personal taste. I am an anti-chrome kind of guy myself, so my 09 SR5 was re-grilled, de-badged, re-door handled, re-taillighted and re-bumpered.

Do note that the TACOMA on my grill has now been painted to a silver grey. Only chrome I have now is the head/fog light reflectors.

I dunno, the more I think about it, the more I think a chrome/black mesh Satoshi would match my wheels better.

Has anyone tried to paint the mesh to color match the truck? I don't know how it would look...my look stupid...but it was just somethin I thought of. Haven't seen anyone do it.

I am in the same boat. I have a chrome grille on my 08 and am thinking the black mesh would look really good as well. I haven't ran across a chrome Satoshi pic yet, so let me know what you decide to do. Best of luck with it.

I'm kinda in the same boat, except my truck is magnetic grey. The surround is chrome now, wheels are stock TRD off road, and the dealer put on a silver pinstripe. If I color match, then I will also paint the wheels black and peel that pinstripe off. I will most likely keep it chrome and get the chrome grill too as I can always paint it later if I change my mind. Has anyone done the satoshi with a chrome grill and surround?

I don't think a blacked out grill would work on mine, but it works on the bright red or blue. If you are not worried about resale, I say do it with the chrome surround and grill, see if you like it. If not, try one of the other configs. If you are worried about selling your truck later, keep the chrome grill stock so you can replace it if you need to.
