I don't know why, but when you have your own cans pores and stamped right in front of you, it's like an orgasm meets your mother in law. Weird. Just so weird.

Cool crowler. I wasn't super stoked on feildworks. A buddy of mine built it up and I went on my own as I was passing by and I wasn't that impressed. He said I need to go back because the beer he was jazzed about wasn't on tap when I went... I have a bunch of go to places in the Bay Area so it's hard to stop somewhere different. Tap room was cool. My kid played with all their toys in the corner.

Very smooth imperial IPA. Get hit with the dry hops up front then a smooth note of citrus on the back side. And I'm not a fan of citrus in my IPA. 10.0% ALC, 80 IBU. Might half to buy another 4pack and pair it up with some really funky cheese.

    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Sours taste fine and better at room temp, or in the 60s.
Seriously, let your stouts, porters, belgians, sours warm up. They open up and you will discover more flavor.

It is a crime to drink a Duchess de Bourgogne at BMC/Swill temperatures. Pull those great beers out of the fridge and let them warm up a little.

Sure, Lagers, IPAs at regular temps. But if you drink complex beers at regular chilled temps you are missing 30% or more of the flavor. You shouldnt chill your tongue down and reduce your tasting abilities.

I need to give the Duchess another try at a little warmer temp. What kind of killed me for that beer is I just had eaten a salad with a bit of balsamic vinegar dressing and was kind of done with the flavor for the day and not realizing what the Duchess tasted like

I don't like warmer sours. I don't want them 34 degrees either. But I also don't want it the same temp as I want my stouts... a nice cool sour on a hot day is almost as good as a nice cold pils

It depends on the sour. A light bodied sour, like a Berlinner Weisse or a Gose should be drunk at a cooler temperature. Nothing I like better to cool down in the summer than down a cold Saint Arnolds Boiler Room (Berlinner).

Had a good pick up at the store today. Lawson's Sip of Sunshine (canned on 3/7 so super fresh and can't wait), Half Full Bright (Blonde/Pale Ale hybrid), and Lord Hobo Hobo life. Also not pictured because it has been drank, drunk, drunken whatever the right word is is the Kona Hanalei Island IPA

Round two tonight. Didn't know what all to expect here. A quad that's been aged in Red wine barrels. I've have other wine barrel aged ales before and the acidicness of the wine seemed to take over but not here. This had a nice balance. To the nose you get the fruit but the taste is where the quad really kicks in.

Got into a selection of 16.7% + ABV beers today and had a really interesting and buzzy afternoon. When beers have that much horsepower it's half pint time if ya want to try four of them. And even then they can grab you buy the junk.

Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA 18% ABV 120 IBU – Imperial IPA.
Holy shit that is good beer. My favorite of the day, Can't believe I have blown it off all these years assuming it was nothing but a barley wine posing as an IPA. I was soooo wrong.

Dogfish Head World Wide Stout 18% ABV 70 IBU – Stout.
Very good beer but not as tasty as their 120 Minute IPA.

Shmaltz Genesis 20:20 16.7% ABV – Barrel Aged Tart Barleywine.
My least favorite beer of the day. Nothing wrong with it, good stuff, but it had stiff competition.
    image_thumb_48cec12297d190bbcca9faa1ea0a53af315606cc.jpg

Evil Twin Molotov Cocktail Heavy 17.2% ABV 100 IBU – A VERY Imperial IPA.
My second place pick for the day. Really nice.
    images_9f9ff9c0cd2488608a11f6850cd7cbdb0ed0e8ab.jpg

Apparently the high ABV beers made me very brave so I decided to finish with a pint of something "light".

Double Mountain Sweet Jane 7% ABV 55 IBU
Good beer...I think. Was a bit polluted by the time I got to it so may have to go back and try again tomorrow. I really think I should since it's called Sweet Jane. That HAS to be really good, right?

I'm not drinking this. It would not be delicious. But, Anderson Valley gave me some goodies after I alerted them to a canning issue (they were changing their canning source anyway so it was a moot point).

Don't tell them that I'm drinking a Lagunitas brew right now.
