It depends on the thickness. If you are doing direct cooking, you can finish boneless chicken in 20-25 minutes. If you are going for pulled chicken on a lower heat (not recommended for boneless), 1-2hr. Chicken cooks fast and is really easy to over smoke.

Reason I recommended 22 is its still big but uses less fuel than 26. He seems concerned about time to heat. Smaller would help that a bit. Having said that, I totally agree with you that what you described is ultimate, especially if you want to smoke lots at once. For just grilling, may be overkill unless he hosts big parties.

I burn lump for almost everything (whatever the red bag is). One chimney full and that sucker will go up to 500 no problem. Most Sundays I cook Sunday dinner and boneless breast for lunches. I really like the extra indirect space.

I enjoy cooking other meats and vegetables as well. I like to "try" to smoke a boston butt for BBQ on my gas grill with the metal smoker box that I bought so i would definitely want to be able to smoke a boston butt. When I cook those I try to regulate the grill between 250-300 degrees for 6 hours.

Ive used the one youre looking at and also have the step down from that one. its pretty much the only grills me and my dad have had in years. we like them. he had the smoker box on his and used It all the time. with the chimney, its about 15-20 min to get the charcoal fully lit and about 5-10 min to get the grill grates heated up and ready to cook. just did chicken breasts last night on the grill using a full chimney of briquettes and it took 25 min from the time I dropped them on to the time they were ready. these were thick bastards too. I love my little chargriller.

Also, my dad smokes meat a lot and ive done a few butts and racks on my little chargriller. they came out great!

Another also, the smaller grill comes with metal tables on the front and sides of the grill and also the handle is metal. it took me a while to realize that and personally I like the metal tables better than the wood ones. just food for thought haha

yea I was in there yesterday morning. I don't know if those briskets would even fit on my full grill without being cut down.

I forgot to mention you can find a weber 22 kettle on Craigslist for pretty cheap if you want to give it a try.

I'm going to be doing a couple of london broils this weekend. One will end up sliced and the other one chopped. Wife is piking them up now. We are having a bunch of friends over for game night again. Need to figure out something for sides now.

No it's usually somewhat of a shorter cook, I really like the flavor that comes out of it. It has a nice chew to it.

Rub yes we do a dry rub, one is going to be done with Bone Sucking Sauce dry and the other one will be done with Salt, Pepper and MAYBE some Garlic powder.

Just to give me an idea on time, how long does it take to grill boneless chicken breast on charcoal from starting charcoal to finishing?[/QUOTE]

For lighting charcoal I use chimney starter then put in grill and then use a leaf blower. Ready in5 mins with leaf blower lol...
