    Oh got it.

I thinking it looks like maybe 3" above the bed rail and the flat section is maybe 40" wide. Is somewhere in the ballpark? I'm going to have to build mine before the topper arrives. So it's just guessing.

I understand you've put some time into it (and some trial and error with the first rack). If you'd be willing to share some of the measurements I can paypal you a little cash for your time. ;)

I've toyed with the idea of building a canvass top that goes over my current bed rack but under the tent. What you've done is a much better idea.

From the center of the bed rails to the top of the rack 5.5" and the flat section is 40" I'd even go a little narrower on the next one

No worries on the paypal, Thank you though

    Thanks!

How long is it front to back? Probably doesn't matter as long as it's less long that the tent is.

When say top of rack to center of bed rails...are you talking where it bolts into the rail and then vertically to the top of the rack is 5.5"? I guess it doesn't matter. As long as I'm high enough to get my fridge and what not under it. It just don't want to end up too high since I'm doing it pre-topper.

Since you mention you'd make it narrower the next go around. Maybe I'll just make mine barely wider than the tent (which is not much less than 40" anyway).

I'm sure my welds aren't going look as good as yours though. :anonymous:

Just need angles degrees, ( simple protractor will do to get angles ) and length to of tubing you used would be most helpful to everyone. Thank you for your post the truck looks great.

You get to that point let me know. I may know someone that would buy it off of you assuming it would fit in a short bed

I don't have a tent as of now, maybe build my set up around a rack? Anyway. Let me know if you decide to part with it.

This is a pretty killer set up. But doesn't this defeat the purpose of having the softopper at all? It seems like the softopper new purpose is just looks and maybe a little bit of hiding what's in your bed..

Still, this setup looks bad ass

Nicely done, welds and all. Is it stainless steel or have you applied paint/powdercoat since the photos? I see the color now on the more recent photos. Question answered.

Rack done! I'm a little concerned I built it too tall. I guess I won't find out until next week when the topper arrives.
