It's pressed into the spindle. He still has to get it out

 

He can still get the press over it afterward. But he'll be able to swing it toward himself. I've changed my uppers, it was the hardest thing I've done on the truck and required massive leverage. Right now he can't even get the BJ shank out of the arm let alone get to the hard part of pressing the joint out.

 

He's a weenie too

 

That's not what I meant lol, I just meant that you can't skip steps the way it's designed unless he cuts the shank off.

 

I still believe it is easier in the long run to pull the entire assembly, UCA and spindle, off the truck and work on it on the bench.

 

It is, that's what I did, it's near impossible to get enough leverage on the press with it in the wheel well. Although now that we've said this he'll be determined to do it with it on the truck still.

 

Are you saying Ben is stubborn?

That's the exact tool I used, worked just fine but you have to be crafty with the cup placement

 

Yeah I remember mine being weird too but it was so long ago I can't remember what I ended up doing to make it work

 

A big socket might work too.
