Window Tinting places

Anyone know where a good place is? I have to peel my front two window because of this fucking DPS officer who first pulled me over on the I-10 for no mud flaps and gave me a warning for that and then gave me a ticket for window tent. Then he made me get out of the car and sit on his hood and lecture me about how mud flaps are needed. But then started asking things about my truck like what wheels and tires and what lift i had on. They are not sending me a ticket in the mail but it says I have to go to court. I just talked to my lawyer and she told me to peel the two fronts and then she will take care of the rest.

So anyone know where I can get a nice peel job done?

 

I've taken my truck to Quality Bumper to have tint put on and they have always done a good job (X4). I'm sure they can take it off just as well.

They have a shop in Mesa and you can get the window's stripped and re-tinted for about $ 70.00 bucks, 480-835-0088 . I hope this helps .

 

I wonder if I can have them stripped and then re-tinted back to what they were later after my court time. According to the little meter the cop had I have 4% on my fronts.

Your welcome, Being nice usually helps. I've been lucky not to have been stopped for the brow on my windshield.

 

if you have some time on your hands and dont mind doin a little work just do it yourself. Ive had to do mine multiple times because i cant have tint when i get the truck inspected. Get a razor blade and get under the edge and start peeling. The whole sheet should come off. Then for the hard part, removing the glue. Either use something like goof off or a mix of vinegar and water. use a wipe with liquid then scrape with razor and repeat technique. With a little elbow grease it comes right off.

 

Yeah I thought about doing it myself but my lawyer said I needed some type of receipt so she can sent it to the court. this court is like 1.5 hours from my house so I don't want to have to actually go to my court date at 9 am.

 

As long as it's above the AS-1 line, I think it's fine. The same 35% law may apply to it though.

Do you have any pics? I was thinking about doing this when I finally tint the fronts.

oh, how did you see out at night??? my friends evolution is like that and he almost has to roll his windows down just to see!

i had my old outback done fairly cheap and the guy came out to my house to do the job. i'll look for his number if you want

 

You get used to it. THe back is at 2%. The only time I have to roll the fronts down is when I'm backing up in a parking lot that doesn't have lights out there other then that its not bad. also THey are sorta mirrored so it really makes it hard for cops to see in so I'm sure thats why I got in trouble. I've talk to many cops before and it never came up once.

 

i'm sure the cop was just bored or something. we were being tailgated by a big ass truck and when we move up a little, he pulled us over for speeding. sometimes they just want bust people for whatever they feel like. suprised he didn't say your headlights were too high off the ground!

 

No not the headlights but I got a warning about no mud flaps and no flag on this piece of steel I had hang out the back.

 

I'd venture he really pulled you over about the non flagged load more than anything... still sucks man.

 

I'm sure. We measured it and it was 6" long too long without a flag.

I think he was new. He was really young and kinda nerdy looking for a cop.

i just got one of those too... just get a shop to write you a receipt for tint removal- they don't check it. or you can pay the $150 fine.
