Latest trans TSB applied rev 1 (always drives better after initial ECU flash so will take time to tell)

Brake shoes and drums resurface/replaced due to noise

    Instrument gauge/odometer combo cluster replaced

My service manager is a great guy. My turd gen is a POS.

Wait... what's that "complimentary rinse" stuff?? They wash your truck when you take it in for service.... I'm freaking pissed.. :angrygirl: I'm like the best Taco customer. I paid for the extended warranty, never have any problems and YOU get a free car wash.

end rant.... well you got free brake job not bad.

I was driving with my wife yesterday on a concrete road about 85-90 my wife goes ..."whats that noise coming from the rear end?".... It was pretty loud... hopefully it's not my rear getting ready to go down the shit hole. I do have AT tires and they were just rotated...and we've had a lot of snow so 4WD-LO and HI been getting a workout.

Hey Smitty why don't you ask the dealership to give you a new truck!?

They told me I'd have to trade and it would cost me effectively 4 or 5 grand. Non starter. Will wait for more equity to build in truck over time then will private sell or trade for new Ranger or whatever looks to be like the best alternative at the time.

    Whole bunch of shit! $$$
    More equity? Bro, please!
Ha, I would of dumped that thing a long time ago.. paying on a lemon is something you shouldn't have to do bro. And it only depreciates as time goes on.
You will never get close to what you got in it anyhow. Even with the warranty I am sure Toyota extended to you, and with all those documented problems, all one would have to do is Carfax the VIN to see all the "toyota care" it has been given......cut your losses now, you are really gonna lose in the end if you don't. I got Ford to buy back my XLT at $30k, took care of the note for me and I got out of it for free with a little ching in my pocket too...Good luck.

Why would you have to trade? KBB dealers will buy it outright.

Holding out for the Ranger no other midsized truck I'd want to get into right now. There is not enough change between turd gen model years to instill any confidence that I wouldnt end up with another POS. Not going to get another tacoma for that reason alone.

Best way to sell is private sale or very competitive trade (save tax) dealers will never get you the best deal outright from a "cash buy"

I certainly do, not blame you 1 bit there, but man, it has got to suck being hit with that payment every month for a truck that is basically a lemon. I am not trying to be a dick, just trying to figure why you would want to keep paying on it is all.

I received a fully transferable 8 year 125k mile warranty with it so when ready to private sell it will help. Want to get past that 3 to 4 year mark before I do that...let the value plateau a bit.

I hear you, well, if youre set on the Ranger, best thing maybe is to wait bro. See if you can dump it on Ford for a nice down payment.
