the actual Foam is not sticky under the paper. its only there to protect it during shipping.

if you have already moved the pins up and down holes, have you tried moving them forward and backward? (loosen the screws attaching it to the bed rail.) i had a similar issue, moving it backward's for you should fix the issue of the wrinkles on the driver's side. i also found that i needed to have the drivers and passengers side adjusted differently.

    oh, also: Truck Buddy! [IMG]

Any pictures of mounting brackets in place with topper removed? Trying to see how they impact bed rails if top is occasionally used. Thanks!

good suggestion, I will have to wait a bit to try this out since we are currently in the middle of a snowstorm expected to drop 18+ inches. Took multiple photos of the problem to send to soft topper if this doesn't work.:fingerscrossed:

I think it's mostly just me, derailing the shit out of this thread haha lo siento amigos :hattip:

Just installed mine. Couple questions came up.

    1. The aluminum rails on mine kind of bowed up on the ends. I ended up using a couple tie downs to keep the very ends flat against the rails.
    2. Is it normal to have the corners to loose/flappy? Kind of hard to tell from the photos.

It just seems the rear corners, even though they are velcro'd, it just seems really loose back there.

If you move the frame forward so the topperer is closer to the cab that should go away. Then you will need to either figure out how to get the flap to stick to the tailgate cap or just let it be as some others have done.

Just purchased a Bestop Supertop and am considering wiring options for a 3rd brake light. I'd like something that is as separate as possible from the camper to allow easy removal, and preferably something that can just plug into my trailer hitch connector. I'm seeing plenty of lights that mount to the hitch, as well as lights that mount between the top of the bumper and the bottom of the tailgate.

Would either of the above mentioned options satisfy legal requirements for a 3rd brake light? If not does anybody know of any products that mount to the top of the tailgate but still are just "plug and play" to the hitch connector?

I'm living in Maryland, and couldn't find anything specific online about the height of the third brake light. I stopped by the local precinct on my way home from work and they said the height of the third brake light doesn't matter as long as I have one. Looks like the easiest route is one that mounts in hitch and hooks right up to the 4 pin.

Ive purchased all the parts but have been sitting on the project for what seems like forever.

I sent the following to @Aztec.Taco in a PM trying to explain what I planned to do. Not exactly a great description and I don't know if Aztec ever did an install.

"I bought one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00029X0JC/and two of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IT2VWOE/. I cut a 1/16" thick piece of carbon steel and notched it to fit the electrical pigtail without crushing it. Thinner steel would work too. I just had some 1/16" flatbar laying around. Painted the steel with black epoxy chassis paint, attached it to the back of the light with heavy duty 3M outdoor rated double side tape, and sealed all the seams (especially the notch at the pigtail) between the steel and light with black auto body seam sealer. A good silicone caulk would work too. Set the light so it rests on the top of the toppers rear window seam with the pigtail sticking up and and place the magnets behind it inside the topper. Separate the Velco attaching the rear flap and stick the pigtail through it up and into the topper. Install insulated female wire disconnects on the end of the pigtail. Tap 22 or 20 ga red and black wire into the trailer plug harness and run it through the loom up behind the tail light. From there you can pull the wire through the bedside to where you want to enter the bed and install a set of male insulated wire disconnects inside the bed. I plan to go all the way back to a bed cubby, drill a hole, and install a rubber grommet. I also plan to use cheap adhesive type wire clips inside the bedside to keep the wire from moving around too much and abrading on anything. Now just loosely wrap 22 or 20 ga wires loosely around the topper frame between your penetration and the pigtail securing it with electrical tape every so often. Make sure you leave enough slack to raise and lower the topper. Wouldn't hurt to leave some slack inside the quarter panel too. Now install male and female insulated disconnects on the end of the wires, plug 'em in, and make light. The light can be disconnected either at the rear flap or at wherever you entered the bed so the top can be removed.

Thats my plan anyhow. If you do it let me know how it turns out.

A good sharp scraper (nothing from Harbor Freight) and solvent should do the trick.

When I was working in body shops I had a boss that hated anyone using scrapers and solvent for double sided tape, weather strip, etc. He wanted that shit scrubbed off with your thumb and quickly. THAT was a pain in the dick. And he was a total dick. That was 35 years ago. He was a red faced, cheap, miserable, bastard and had already had a couple of heart attacks. Feels kind of good knowing he has almost certainly reached his expiration date.
