This is going to sound really cheesy, but have any of you guys tried the quit smoking audios? It's basically a tape you listen to that uses affirmations that actually convinces your mind that you hate cigarettes and thus makes you want to quit. It sounds stupid but I know a couple people that tried it and it was the only thing that worked permanently.

This June will be 6 years since my last smoke. Not sure if you like to get shit faced drunk like me, but I thought my biggest problem was gonna be when drinking. Turns out I was wrong. I used a generic form of zyban which is some anti depressant. No problems now. I know they say you should not drink and take anti depressants but that's a load of crap!

    I turned out OK, I think???

Funny part is when I go to a sports bar and come home smelling like cigs I can't stand the smell. It is in your clothes, hair everything. It stinks.

You well be amazed at how much better you can breath.

    Best of luck to you!

I smoked half a pack a day freshman and sophomore year, quite cold turkey entire Junior year, but now I live with stoners and smokers, but I still control myself to no more than 1 a day. I havent smoked a single cig for the past 4 days, and have gone more than a week at a time without smoking. I usually fall for one when someone offers. I havent willingly purchased a pack in years.

...I do smoke hookah quite often...

I quit with a pill my doc prescibed to me about a 12-15 months ago... It was welbutrin... Worked really good! you start taking the pill 7-10 days before you quit... The first day went a little crazy, the pill made me feel like I was in an out of body experince with only smoking about 1/2 of the amount that I normally would... The second day was a ton better, no weird feeling and noticed that the cigs tasted really awful and smoked maybe a 1/4 of what I had normally put down in a day. The third day was even better as I started to lose interest in smoke breaks, I had I think 2-3 cigs on the third day and I havn't smoked since. I've never looked back since and feel 1000x better for it! Good luck fellas!

I quit a few months back by using those Electronic Cigs. they work. food tasted better, i didn't smell, i was healthier and you still get the nicotine. however since it doesn't burn out like a cig (which is like my timer when on breaks at work) i would puff away. i would puff away in my office at work, at home, everywhere cause there is no second hand smoke i smoked all the time, more than real cigs. I actually got a bit sick from all the nicotine. I eventually ended up going back to reg. cigs.

You can put me down as a Chantix success!

I smoked for something like 23 years. I finally got tired of thewife nagging and while at the doc's office for an unrelated matter, asked him about the chantix. He wrote me up the scrip and I tried it out.

I went the week smoking as normal taking the lower pills, then on the day before the 'big day', the Florida legislature passed a bill jacking up cigarette taxes like 1.60 a *pack*. Nice to be lucky on timing!

I went out the next morning (we never smoked in the house), had one, came back inside and stopped about three feet in the door and thought, "I can't tell I just had that cigarette. At all."

That was it. Threw the rest of that pack in the trash and never looked back. The wife quit about a year later too, to boot.

And the one thing that I personally guarantee will NEVER allow me to start again is my discovery of FOOD! Holy SHIT. I basically never tasted anything like I do now. EVER. I would go without a LIMB before giving up my taste buds again.

Of course, I've put on 25 pounds since then, but I'm working on that now too!

Atleast try the patches man, they will give the best real and in depth dreams for about a week. I had the most trippiest dreams while one them. I had one were a boeing 747 crashed next to my high school and I had to run home dodging dinosaurs that came out of the ground with my nephew in arms. I could just see the people jumping from the plane running. really wierd i know.

I know dude, just giving you shit... Sheesha is pretty good, I like the grape the best! I picked up my Hookah in Cairo a few years back. The pill rocked and it was covered by my insurance, like $10!

    Good Luck!
