I'm guessing operator then since you work shift? How do you like it?

That's awesome. I think with the limited communication with people I have, I'm in contact with the plant operators the most. Also, with getting married this year and kids in the near future, I don't think shift work is the long term for me though. It's not easy on anyone from what I've learned.

Edit to add the start of night 2 of 4 for me :pccoffee:

Congrats on the marriage  all the people I work with that have kids try real hard for day shift. Makes sense.

I'm on Night 4 of 5 here. Last minute covering for someone tomorrow night. 11.5 hours OT will be good though.

Thanks. If I could go days only I would, but being such a small company that's not possible unfortunately. Kind of forces my hand on what I need to do

Days only is a nice dream. We're making do with this for now though.

Yeah I'm actually trying to find something different with normal hours. How long you been doing shift work?

5 years at this current job. Most of my 9 years in the Navy was shiftwork of some form or another. Haven't had a "day job" since early '03 o_O

After doing shift for 3 years, I've gained quite a bit of respect for people that can work shift until retirement.

I hope I'm not either :bananadead:. On another note, anyone have any experience with the SOS weld it yourself bumper?

Shift work feels like its slowly killing me. I was fine with it for about a year, but these last few months I've been dying. Only problem is it's easier to find a 3rd shift well paying job than anything else.

Yeah that's the situation I'm in. These last couple months have been really rough and it's hard to find a job that pays somewhat close to what I make now.

Everything I've come across is a big hit to work in the sun. They know how to keep night shift people around dammit...

I've accepted that I'll have to take a pu it initially, but feel it'll be better off in the long run.
