Trans mount didn't work. Carrier seems to have some play though. Guess ill try to find one of those.

Have you tried stopping on a hill, leave it in gear, then pushing on gas seeing if you get the drone before the truck moves. Use the brake if you need to keep you still. Just trying to get most under load stituation. If the noise is there it eliminates any rotating drone from CB or front shaft bearing. If it's the same as mine, which it sounds like, I'm thinking it maybe an internal trans problem which I believe a trans flush created. It does drive me nuts to the point I'm not going to soak any more cash into the truck till I find the problem or I'm going to get rid of it. Mine is a 2007 with only 44,000 miles on it. If i find the problem I will post. The hunt continues, 10 months later.

Ive kinda tried this.. One thing I notice is that I cant hardly duplicate it anywhere but between about 60-70 mph. Ive also tried just putting in a lower gear and holding brake and gas about 1800 rpms. cant seem to notice it. But its easy to notice on the highway at 60

I might have been able to notice it some when brake standing today.. It does seem trans related, because in neutral its not there. Remove load it goes away... very annoying

If the same problem definitely load related. Mine might be just a tad lower in RPM. Might be why I get mine to do it on hill with little brake, and some hills no brake. Truck doesn't move but the annoying buzzy drone drives me nuts. Did some more checking today then took it for a drive. Trans mount no rips or bolts loose pry bar check for slop seem good. Motor mounts checked fine also. You also had your trans oil changed not long ago? If so did you do a dealer flush or your own drain and fill? My thoughts and just my thoughts trans related, lock up, pump, converter. I'm no mechanic. I wish it was my first guess, exhaust related, maybe cat inside but doesn't drone rev-ing in neutral or park.

It was doing it before,, so I did a drain and fill myself.. Didn't help. Ive only had the truck a year. Who knows what was done before that. I don't figure much. Still has original leafs too

I think my carrier bearing has been the problem for me. Before you replace it try taking some silicone spray lube or pene grease and spray around the carrier bearing where it contacts the driveshaft. Let it soak and repeat multiple times. I did this to mine and it helped a lot. Also if it helps than most likely it is the carrier bearing. Id just try it since its a lot cheaper than just replacing parts.

Heat shield on cat converter. The bolts rust out and it sounds like a playing card against bicycle spokes. Comes and goes with rpm level.

I wish I could get this figured out. Its driving me insane. SOOO annoying. Completely Rpm related. changes with load and rpm. Does it in all gears. Most noticeable in 4th and 5th. between 1800 and 2200 rpms. if I'm carrying a load, its even worse, and almost constant. Drain and fill didn't help. New trans mount didn't help. Shudder stop didn't help. I don't know what to do.

I too have that same problem. Noise that seems to coming from the front. Vibration in the steering wheel, and gas pedal. This has been going on for a little over a month and is driving me nuts!!! 07 V6 with 169,800 miles under her belt. Replaced the carrier bearing last year. After seeing the suggestions on here I just might have to take a long look at this. Will keep checking if any one else has more suggestions.

I wish someone could figure this out... Truck only has 60k on it and everything vibrates. I don't even know where to look. it vibrates at idle.. it vibrates and hums goin down the road, and it really vibrates if you get over about 2800. Its a different vibe than the other one.. but who knows, could still be related. I really want to like it, but I hate it. Makes me wanna sell it. its been a pain and a money pit and ive only had it a year

No, but don't figure a rear end issue would be rpm sensitive. It seems as if it has to be engine or trans related. Every thread I read about something similar. and it seems like lots of people have this same issue but no one ever seems to find a fix. tons of things get mentioned, this or that.. but no fix is ever found, and the threads just fade away.

Check transmission flex plate for cracks or loose bolts.

I honestly do fear a trans/converter issue. But to check these things, means dropping the tranny I believe. Its all enclosed. No dust cover like my old chevys.

There is a plastic cover to access the nuts for removal of transmission. Have someone turn motor by hand from the front crankshaft dampner bolt checking for cracks or loose nuts.
