I have a 2016 4x4 Trd off-road and I am planning to put a 3" lift on it. I was wondering what is the biggest tire size I could fit on it. It currently has 265/75r16s on it and I was wanting to know the biggest tire I could fit on it without any rubbing issues, would a 305/75r16 be too big? Any help would be appreciated

yes way too big, go look in the wheels and tires section. This question has been asked and answered dozens of times. Should also be a sticky...

Welcome, you can use the search tool to get more info as this is an everyday question. But 265's are about the biggest you can go without rubbing. 285's are pretty common around here, but you already get some rubbing with those.

generally accepted sizes for a 3" lift at 285/75r16 needs trimming, 255/85r16 do not believe it needs trimming, will find out monday.

So then do you think I could fit 285/75r16 tires on there with a 3" lift and 1.25" spacers?

That's what I'm running since I'm still on stock wheels. But you might still rub on the cab mount on full turn, and I say "might" because there are some people that say they don't. I had to do the cab mount chop since my tires would rub.

think it comes down to tyre at that point. Some have bigger lugs and rub I guess.

@chrisrocks300 just so you know, after you put your 285s on, you can use the search feature to find out why your MPG dived.

Yeah I already knew it was gonna drop, especially with the spacers. I'm thinking about putting a bed cover on it and maybe that'll help some idk, if not... well I mean it is a TRUCK for crying out loud haha

there was a thread here a week or so ago about 'why do my MPG suck so much' after guy mentioned he had 6 inch lift with 35" tyres, complete mall crawler style lol.

it is a truck, but sadly I also daily drive mine so I need to be slightly conscious of MPG. So I'm only going to a 265 70 17. I wish I could run a 33" as it would be much better off road but just can't afford the MPG loss

Yeah I totally get where you're coming from, I can do it because I'm about to be in college so I will mostly be using the college's bus system or walking due to tickets on college campuses. Really my truck will just be for groceries and off-roading haha

Depends on the wheels you wanna use... there's a thing called "Wheel offset" negative number pushes the tire and wheel center away from the truck .... doesn't matter how high you go, if your wheels are tucked inside the fender you're going to get some rubbing on the suspension parts.

Instead of spacers get a wheel with negative offset. Say -6 or so.. your tires will poke out of the fender a little bit, and give you a more aggressive "look" while not rubbing... to a point.. 285s will rub a stock suspension... 3" lift you're good maybe even a 2" lift they will work.

So out of a nitto trail grappler or a bfg ko2 (with a 3" lift and 1.25" spacers) which would be the better choice? Or if neither could you recommend a tire and size?

Btw I don't think I said this but on my truck it came with 265/75r16 stock with no rubbing... that's why I was thinking with a lift and a 1.25" spacer that I might be able to run a 285 with no rubbing
