Yeah I understand that lol. Some people find it crazy to see in any clothing besides my jeans, boots, camo hat, and my neon green work shirts. I have a store I stop at everyday on the way to work and owner double takes every time I'm out of uniform because it's very rare haha even crazier look when I buy beer because he doesn't know if I'm buying to celebrate being off work or get through the night at work! Hahaha jk. Most of the people I hang out with outside of work sadly also work with me. And the girl I've been seeing works with me on the same shift so it all works out hahah

It's not the flu, just a cold. wouldn't have helped any.

Oh I know. and there is next to no upward mobility here. I will begin the search for a new job in about 3 months. I wanted to get 2 years of solid work in here. September will be my 2 year mark here.

    You can never escape work!!

I understand the uniform thing and the store. My gas station is always waiting for me and will let me know if they're out of my energy drink. lol I don't drink much to begin with or I'd be known as the one going home with 2 tall boys every morning.

    Every shift kills you.

I feel much worse working day shift than night shifts.

Non of us are 18 anymore.

Idk I had day shift at an old job and loved it. I'm an morning person. Being able to sleep at a normal time and not be woke up at weird times or needing to stay up way too long to do things will greatly help.

Is that really too much to ask? I know some people are insomniacs and some work calls for itbut isn't there a better way?

No apparently there isn't because those companies would lose too much money shutting down at a reasonable hour to let the wage driven serf live a reasonable time line.

exactly. I wouldn't mind a job that would only occasionally wake me up in the middle of the night. But needing to be up through the night always is not fun.

Ya, those jobs should be reserved for life and death situations, not profits.

I didn't read back far enough to get context but I'm assuming you're not a fire fighter doctor or medic.

That's one reason I've thought about making the switch to being a lineman. They work 7-3:30 M-F and have an on call rotation

Haha I feel ya on the energy drink thing. If the owner is taking out the trash when I walk in he says "go getcha big Red Bull and I'll meet ya up there. Dip or smokes or both today?" And starts laughing. And I don't even have to tell him which dip or smokes. Just say which and he knows!

What always gets me is if I try to grab a beer on the way home. The guy always just stares at me. Same guy. Stupid 7 am alcohol law. I always ask if I can just leave cash then he can ring it up after 7 am:D

I've also come to the conclusion that the 9-5 job isn't real as it's always portrayed. I think most people work other hours so "day job" isn't the norm anymore.

I just love weird looks for buying beer in the morning period. It's our "night time". Just like them buying beer after work. Just a different time of day

I usually send me dad a pic in the morning "cheers" style cause he'll send them knowing I'm at work at night. He shows them to coworkers and they'll ask if that's from sunset last night. When he says I just took it, they stare weird. Or sitting on the deck with the wife, her with coffee and me with J&C, dogs running around. That's how the night shift do.

Thaaaats right haha. My neighbors look at me awfully weird when I come home at 815 am and crack a cold on in the driveway before walking in the door. Even weirder looks when I stay out the porch for the whole 12 pack before bed ;)

Damn y'all make me feel like a vampire. I get off at 5am and scoot on to bed asap before the sun comes up, or else I can hardly sleep (have enough trouble sleeping as it is)

Haha I don't know how you'd make it through the next night shift with a hangover. Zzzquil was the sleep aid there for a while.
