Hey Chris, your tow cap is 3500 pounds, minus payload. I did some checking and you can actually tow a 5x10 uhaul. The GVW of it is 2800 pounds so this gives you room for passenger, bed load and tongue weight. It's also a tandem axle, so it would be easier for weight distribution so you done get too tongue heavy. The key to towing with the 2.7 is anticipation. When you enter a highway, get into the gas or manually shift to low and keep it there until the rpms get up. And the same when you get to a hill. Downshift and get into it before you actually hit the hill. With the LCE, you have the advantage of that lower torque peak. However, if you can, install a supplemental tranny cooler before the trip. It wasn't that expensive and always good to have. As Mike can tell you, over heated fluid breaks down, which will lead to failure. And I'm sure you know to forget OD when pulling that much weight.

Simple tools keep electronic stuff if you do not need It find a ham club they might be interested in it most are into old electronics. If the tools are just plain um kmart specials toss them in a box for use when your going to abuse something.

Apparently the outside temperature sensor for the weather option in the Radio isn't ran through the ECM. I looked for it on the scan gauge and couldn't find it.

... or forget to check the rubber seal is on the old filter and not stuck on the vehicle. :anonymous:

I understand you more all the time.

Yes, don't use overdrive. I towed my 6x10 enclosed trailer loaded to about 3000 pounds 4 hrs south and back again through mountain passes without issue. My '07 was your truck except 5spd manual trans. I stayed out of 5th and had to use 3rd across the passes. It'll do it, just don't get in a hurry.

Ya'll grow everything big down there, huh? ;)

    Practice.

Nothing was reported so, at this point it's abandoned or "dumped". It was stacked neatly, not thrown off and all wadded up. The load over hung whatever trailer or truck it came off of because there was a cut up orange cone used as flagging attached to one of the studs with self tapping screws. I reused it for the same purpose with the same screws....don't know, stranger things have happened.

    To add to this...
Great points for anticipation. I towed a open race car trailer, car, tools, tires with a Chevy straight 6 pickup.
    A cooler is always advisable.
When your doing it you can add another do dad to your truck and put a sensor for oil temp and put a single pod gauge on the a post.

Nice to know someone understands I'm a product of my surroundings.
I really hate being defensive with a cya attitude.
Like anyone else you don't know until you walk in their shoes.
    I thank you for that.

There's alot of newer ford trucks at work. Awhile back one of them didn't have brakes. Fortunately nobody got hurt. Pedal went to floor. Checked fluid and it was gone. No leaks anywhere . They asked me and I looked it over and checked tailpipe. Bad soot and wet. I said it's burnt thru booster. Nobody believed me. Towed to dealer and found out master cylinder recall. Not uncommon to burn thru booster.

    I do need to clarify.
There Are sensors and you need to tap into the ecu program with the correct aftermarket reader.
I ment no that you could just wire tap into.
    I'm sorry.

As far as engine oil temp there is no sensor.
So your going to need to install a bung or simular to install a sensor.
