I think Childress hasn't won since Harvick won at since Phoenix in '13.

Joey took the hit into the first turn wall to screw Kyle outa the win?
    That'd be a tough sell.

Ah come on now, we all know Joey knew he was done so he heated up the bead on his tire, and just let the car hit the wall. Anything to take the win away from Kyle.

Last week I saw the claim (repeatedly) that Brad Keselowski threw the win to drop back and block Kyle so Joey could get 4th place.

Well that was fun. Sorry I am late to the party. I was coaching soccer so had to record it. Jr still sucks but good for Newman. I can't stand auto club so can't wait until next week is done.

Good on Newman! And good on Larson. Larson could of wreck Newman for the win.
It's good to see Newman finally get one. Dude is a wheel man. Saw him practice an Outlaw with Kasey Kane at Eldora. Been a fan ever since.

I hated auto club for the longest time, the last couple of races have been better, but still...

I don't know what it is about the place. I just don't like it. It just does not feel like a Nascar track to me. Seems it was designed more for Indy in my mind. I went to one race there and just didn't like it. Oh well it's better than no race at all so I will take it I guess.

Someone mentioned a couple days ago, the desire to see actual stock cars run around the speedways. I think that would be the most boring, uncool thing ever. Imagine a fleet of 4-door, V6, front wheel drive* sedans ripping around at 111mph. Sedans are on their death bed in America. Pickup trucks outsell sedans. So do SUVs and crossovers. Rumor has it that, in addition to Dodge, another brand is coming to NASCAR in the next two years. Some people think it will be a foreign brand (VW was interested back in '10, but their goose is cooked). I think Buick might throw their hat back in the ring. If "Race on Sunday, sell on Monday" was still the name of the game, I'd think auto manufacturers would push trucks to be the premier American "stock" racing series. I'm not talking Camping World series. Those are just race cars with truck-like sheet metal riveted on. Something like Stadium Super Trucks could display on and off-road performance and put on a good show doing it.

*SS is actual rear-wheel drive V8, but Chevy killed it, so it'll be labelled something else next season.

Just think what it could be. What we have now isn't the greatest either, the sport needs to take the cars back some. Stadium trucks are awesome.

I wasn't the one that wanted to see true stock cars run, but I do miss the cars that identified more closely with what we drive on the street. That's not going to happen for a number of reasons; front wheel drive was mentioned, as was the V6 engine. I think one of the limiting factors is the fact no production cars are built body on frame...everything's unibody.

Go back and look at the cars that ran in the mid 60s. Some of those cars still had the side body molding, for Pete's sake! Before about 1966, all Ford and GM cars ran on stock frames. I'm not sure about the Chrysler products, because to the best of my knowledge, those cars were unibody. But after 1965, almost every car on the track used a frame based on a 1965 Ford Galaxy frame. That went on for 30 years, at least. Not sure what they base car construction on now. I don't follow it quite as closely as I once did. But the point is that these are handbuilt bodies that have a passing resemblance to what we can buy from a dealer. But at least they're better than the COT cars that ran a few years ago.

Although both of the top divisions now run V8s, 25 years ago, or so, what was called the Busch Series (now Xfinity) ran V6s. Those cars were quick...not as fast as the Cup cars, but they were quick. The downside for me was the sound...I just don't like the sound of a V6.

I haven't done any research to what is out there now a days, but these 3 rides come to mind when I want to see stock cars race.

Edit: shit photos did stick, be right back.

This is why I like the TA2 series so much. I'm looking forward to seeing them race at Road Atlanta in mid-May:
