Slider Help

Trying to make a decision on some sliders. I really like the Rock Crushers' design. Some more pictures would be nice to see just how much they stick out, but overall, I like them. Plus, they're on sale for another few days iirc. Other option would be some Avid Off Road. I can swing by and pick these up which would save me on S/H costs. So far, I like these designs best from my searching.
Also, I'm leaning towards bolt ons. I can pull them off and sell them if/when I sell the truck, and plus, I dont have to worry about a weak weld job. I doubt I'll ever need the ability to lift the truck by these, nor rely on them to hold up the weight of the vehicle on a rock. My off roading is quite mild.

 

IMO go with avid and save urself the shipping costs

 

if your off roading is mild why do you need sliders?

 

I like the round sliders, I have Demello ones that I got off a group buy here, and the price wasn't bad at all.

btw, where in Jersey are you?

 

Maybe for looks and or dent protection or use them as steps

 

b/c I like them better than the other options.

are these pretty strong or are they "bendy" also what ones did you buy the DOM or HREW and how long about did it take you to get them? i was gona get some revenge fab but then idk what happened to them i think they shut down they had some good prices on sliders

 

I got the 80" DOM weld-on sliders for $300 shipped. It only took under 7 business days to get them and they are very good quality. They came with gussets and scab plates and I couldn't be happier.

 

I ordered some rock crushers. I posted some pics of them on a truck i googled on the demello thread.

 

avid offroad....only down thing to that is that they are taking a little longer that expected

 

If you get the avid ones get the weld ons. the bolt ons bolt to where nerf bars do and you might as well just buy nerf bars or side steps because you they won't be as strong and ruin your floor if you try to wheel them.

 

just curious because of what you just said alex: if you land hard on the sliders that are weld on, do they mess up andbend your frame or how does that work? do you kind of understand what im saying?

 

I've never heard of that happening. All of the All-Pro guy and other group beat the hell out of the stuff and I've never heard of a frame bending like that. But I know that the floor where the bolt on avid's is not that strong thats why I don't use my hi-lift on my steps.

 

I voted other. Shrockworks bolt-on. I like the look of mine and it was a very easy install. No welding, all hardware included and they didn't take to long to arrive.

 

These are the exact reasons why I bought Avid bolt-on sliders.

 

I ordered the Hybrid sliders from Demello a few days ago. The Rock Crushers look good, but something just doesn't look right to me.....probably that they aren't angled and just flat.

 

personally i like the rounded off sliders... but u had a good question about the HREW and DOM... i had a buddy of mine build me a set... and they are HREW... was that a bad idea as far as strength in lets say using a high lift to jack up the truck..??? didnt mean to thread jack...lol
