There are two schools of thought on the grille black out. I agree with the chrome rim and logo version. Added the TRD emblem. IMG_1491.jpg

I'm actually going to vote for the gray hood. Unfortunately I see everyone else's point. Perhaps if the top of the cab was silver too.

May I ask what kind of paint you used? Spray gun or can? Did you have to rough the surface of the chrome and if so how did you do it?

It definitely looks better with the bezel and logo chrome.... or at least more OEM. The TRD badge is nice too.

edit: if you need some tools for the door panels the following link is for some vinyl tools which are much better than the cheap plastic ones and still at a great price.

No no no! Haha why did you choose that location??? They don't flow with the lines of the truck in any way. Chrome or black doesn't matter, adding side moldings to a truck in a spot that shouldn't have side moldings is where you went wrong! Good luck ever selling that with those "things" on the doors!

It was in the Wilmington area, I left the hood at the shop for a couple days, I told them to take their time and I wasn't in a rush. Every bigger shop wanted to blend (meaning they wanted to paint my fenders too) so it'll match perfect but I didn't want that. Shop around your area and get a couple of quotes.

I noticed a little hole in my derp the other night and ended up pulling it off the trim piece of chrome all the way around. I think I like it better that way as well.

Replaced my driver side mirror housing Sunday. Took about 45 minutes from start to finish. Rather easy for never pulling a door panel off before. Orange CA Toyota quoted me $445 for the part and $150 for a hour of labor. Got the part from https://parts.toyotaofcoolsprings.com/ for $250. Orange would not match the price, if they would have I would have paid for the service to have them install but they would rather loose all $595 so they did. Glad I did the install myself so I could learn a few things. Scariest part is pulling the plastic part off thinking I'll break them before they would give and release. This is twice now that Orange has wanted to sell a part that they know another dealer would give a better deal on. All services will be done now at Tustin as well.

4 Runner headlights look so much meaner than ours. I like them better.

That's different, I wonder how hard to would be to keep the GMT color that is OEM and derp the rest. That would look nice.

I think it would look sharp if he took the dip off the center caps.

    A few minor things...

Just a friendly reminder... If a cop sees you turning it on while you're on a public road (even at a stop) he will most likely pull you over and ticket you.

I hate tailgaters as much as the next guy, and they deserve to be smacked, but the law is the law regarding what lights you can have on your car and what you can use while driving on public roads.
