How much would you say my Double Cab is worth?

    I've been on Craig's for the last year sometimes twice daily watching the tacomas. Your truck would get under $10,000 in Colorado. The only similar truck I've seen go for near $10,000 was with a new frame, in unreal condition and had clearly been garaged it's entire life. Typical 200+ double cabs go for 6-9.

    You might be able to get $10k for it, imo, but it really depends where you are and the condition of the frame if you want any more than that. Lets say you are in the midwest with a rusty frame I would say more like $6-7k realistic, but say your are in the NW with new frame $11-12k might actually be realistic.

    That is absolutely true. When I was buying my truck in 1998 the dealer wanted higher price because "it has camper and carpet in bed". I told them "then take it off - don't need it". For as much as I loved that camper and carpet for the last 19 years, at that buying time it was worth for me nothing, no matter how convincing a salesperson was. I got the truck for the price I wanted, and still got camper and carpet "included".

    Now knowing how well Toyota designed the truck, and how reliable OEM parts are, any mods to the suspension or drive I would consider a minus. Lift and bigger tires for me mean more wear to the rest of the truck and therefore decreasing the value of the truck.

    So I think by taking all the "off-road mods" you would actually increase the price and on the top of you would get back some stuff you could use or sell separately.

    I would say in theory you would be right however the market in reality does not follow it. Not to mention the time and expense of removing and replacing those items.

    5100's all around, 2.75 inch lift, polyurethane body mounts, gibson exhaust, variation of the deckplate mod, intake resonators removed 285-75-16 goodyear AT
    So much depends on location and the demand in your area, depending on the state of the frame the price could range from 5k to 12k. Just don't expect to recover your investment in aftermarket parts. Up north here a first gen with a reasonable frame is a rare bird indeed and they never come up for sale anymore.

    General rule of thumb on heavily modded vehicles that I've always heard for a price or value is the trucks worth and then half the price of the major add-ons or mods, not including labor. Now obviously, as you know, it doesn't mean you get that. But I've seen people pay more than a value derived that way and I've seen people pay less. It's just a way to get a rough idea.
