So I'm trying to get 20x12 on my 17 Tacoma but 4 wheel parts says there to wide on a 6" lift. Will they rub at all or are they full of shit because I've seen plenty of tacomas with the same wheels on

Plenty of threads to give you your answer same as the shop did, you're going to rub, you can trim and do a cmc, maybe trim some more but you can get there if that's what you are willing to do.

20x12 means nothing. The backspace and offset are going to determine whether or not they will rub, and where they will rub.

P.S. I have no idea what BS/OS numbers you should be looking for, just throwing that out there

I had to do a lot of cutting on a 3 inch lift but I think you will be fine with a 6 inch see lots of people with the setup you want

@TACO-WACKO do you get a smooth ride with your 20x12 because when I'm on the free way my steering wheel is all over the place I'm thinking it might be alignment or balance wheels

Do what you want, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't think that kind of wheel and tire combo is much use anywhere but the street however.

Your truck, no one elses. All that matter is you look at it every time you walk away from it and smile like a retard at Chuck E Cheese for the first time.

Truck drives smooth on the highway. I go back and forth from Florida to Louisiana for work and have had no vib issues except on the crappy LA highways. I have a slight drift to the right but the guys at the allignment shop explained its a radial drift. Truck doesn't pull just a slight drift. When was the last time you had your tires rotated or balanced? Do you let a lot of air out of them when you offroad? I had vib/bounce issues in my old truck from getting sand inside my tires from running too hard on low air pressure.
