    Fun fun!! Been there done that.
    Side note: get a pack of high quality sawzall blades, your gonna need them, dont even try HF ones, they are dull within 2 strokes!
    Its gonna take a bit of patience with a side dish of cussing, lol.

    I have a set you can use if you need! Just stock takeoffs though.

    So Im having a hassle trying to get my rear leaf spring recall done. I originally bought my truck in 2009 from a dealership in Tucson, and didnt find out until later that the dealer had installed lift blocks on my truck. Nothing on the original paperwork stated that there was a lift and I never really noticed because I always assumed it was the trd offroad package that gave it the extra height. (Yeah I know Im an idiot). So fast forward to the rear leaf spring recall and now I am being told by El Cajon Toyota that the will not do the recall until the entire suspension is returned to factory; Yes they mean both the front and the back suspension components return to factory. I call SD Toyota and they give me the same spiel. I called up Desert Toyota in Tucson who I originally purchased it from and explained that I had moved back home to San Diego and regurgitated what I had been told by both SD dealerships. Well their service manager was quite perplexed as to why they were giving me a bunch of crap. He informed me that the recall instructions from Toyota Corporate did not mandate removing lifting components and even had instructions on how to preform the recall on lifted vehicles. He did say that the instruction did say that the extra hours to remove any aftermarket components would not be billable to Toyota. In an effort to help me out he offered to pay for the extra work/parts needed to El Cajon Toyota through a purchase order, but they said that it was a dealership policy that they would not do the recall on any lifted trucks not sold off their lot.

    So basically Im asking if anyone knows a dealership in San Diego that is will do do the recall on a lifted truck, with the understanding that they will charge for the extra time of the lifted parts?

    TL/DR: Anyone know of a dealer in San Diego that willing do the rear leaf spring recall on lifted trucks?

    Try Toyota of Escondido, they have done a few with them, but generally they wont reinstall the blocks...worth a shot!

    @qballenko

    I'm in the same boat. I only called El Cajon Toyota. I have inch blocks and airbags. Removing them is not really a big deal - it's the front adjustable shocks that will be a PITA. Some BS about the truck having to be at OEM height to measure angle or alignment or some BS. I thought about calling them to see if they will just give me the leafs and I'll install them myself. I'll sign a waiver if I have to. I doubt they will but it's worth a shot. I might find it worth it to drive to AZ. Maybe find a dealer in Yuma.

    @Chuy

    I actually asked them about giving me the leaf springs, and they said no. Im not sure if their reasoning was from a liability stand point or the them not getting paid for the work standpoint. But it wouldnt hurt to ask.

    Good news is the original dealer in Tucson came through and worked out a deal w/ them and DSI.

    My new springs are at Toyota Carlsbad. I have Ride Rite Air Bags to enhance the stock springs. They will remove them to replace the leaf springs, but not put back any non-stock equipment.

    @David K

    What do you have a front lift? Did they say to remove it?

    The leaf spring recall is the rear. The front has coils around the shocks, which were also upgraded to 5100s set up one notch to .85" lift. Speed Freek did the install.

    They didn't say to remove anything. They said they just won't replace the air bags on the back.

    El Cajon Toy said I had to return front to OEM height. I'm gonna call Carlsbad and go through them if they don't care about the front height.

    The front is not being touched, so unless they are just being difficult with you... ??

    Toyota of Escondido may be a better backup, as Jason mentioned. They are more off road friendly truck specialist it seems.

    Toyota of Escondido has an actual "racing" division for all kinds of motor sports so I like to believe I can trust their techs overall when it comes to knowledge.

    Like said above, Escondido would be the highest chance of getting it done back to stock in the rear.
    The front has no bearing on what they do in the rear, the service advisor is just being a pansy.

    Where is this link to the Pelfreybilt copycat? Gone?

    I believe it gotz deleted. Basically someone screen shot the website and started a thread on it. The first post was awesome because it was classic plagiarism. Think the story was some amateur web guy took a shot at the website and accidentally had all of pelfreys stuff on it. Probably made a rough home page sketch live on the internet to use as a reference. I don't know my website design jargon. I can barely figure out facebook.
