King's wait time right now is pretty long. Up to 3 months i think. And there was or is a big GB on Kings on here right now so that will slow things down a bit.

Try DownSouth MotorSports. I don't know what kind of stock they have, but I imagine they might have a set of 8" kings they can rebuild for your application. I hear you get good stuff if you tell them to suck your D as well

If you get the TC kit, they use the same coilover for the 3.5 and the 2. Did you get an LT kit already?

That's a negative on the approach pattern ghost rider, not the same CO's for +2 and +3.5. LT uses an 8" stroke and TC for example with the +2 kit spec's a mid sized 6" ish stroke shock with a taller lower coil seat etc.

Has anyone here that has an 05-11 tacoma done a 12-15 front end conversion? Like the lights, grill only? wouldn't need the lower bumper since I have a tube bumper and plan to cut off the front cross member.

Not sure how it is with other companies...but with TC the coilovers are the same as they are in the same locations on the LCA. I was surprised to find this out too, but yea with them you do have that option.

Alright, I just called TC and you are correct. I swear to the dirt gods that their +2 kit used a funky custom shock with a lower rod end spacer and raised coil seat...I can vividly picture it. They did clarify that neither kit uses an 8" CO, both can only use their custom King or Fox for those kits only.

Its all good man, I literally just called them too before responding and asked if they used the same stroke on the coilover for both 2+ and 3.5. I didn't really believe it until he told me they use the same locations which would make sense that the coilover is transferable amongst the two.

I would think any other company that offers both sizes would use a different coilover though.

IIRC the "custom" coilovers on TC and Burg kits are running different top caps to reduce the length of the shock.

Yup for sure, I think most other manufacturers design their kits around a standard 8" coil over and then just tweak top caps etc.

I almost wonder is TC losing any possible gains from their 3.5 kit by having the same coilover location on their arm as the 2+? Im sure they have a good reason behind doing it this way, but still puzzles me as well.

I got some 8" c/o's from @dirt addiction that he ran with his do kit. They were cap over but had +1 rod ends instead of the +2's that tc uses. Not sure if he got them from DK or not, but I'm sure he can shed more light on it

The 3.5 kit was developed before the +2 kit

Thinking about it some more...I bet TC does that to get the lower CO bolt away from the CV boot ? My Solo +2 kit uses a standard 8" and let's just say that shit comes real close to not playing well with others.

No. CV joints bind before the shock does. And then the ball joints.
