    Rx glasses measure in sphere, cylinder and axis. There is a tolerance to those but it is in mm. I suspect they were a cm off, or as opticians and folks in the lab call them, diopters.
    If you look at your lenses you should see 2 small engravings, 1 on each side. Between those engravings is where the rx is located. When the optician measures your face with the frames you want they are looking for where glasses sit on your face in reference to those engravings. So your power is supposed to be in that area.

    Useless knowledge I know...
