I think all this Toyota bashing is to shore up GM. I mean look who has money tied up in GM and who is holding Toyotas feet to the fire. The US Goobermint. Call me loco.

I've been saying the same for weeks. Congress apparently doesn't think their 10% job approval rating is low enough so they're shooting for lower.

I don't know about the Conspiracy Theory, but after watching the Toyota Congressional Hearings, Congress certainly wanted blood, Some of the people asking the questions stood out as real idiots that's for sure

 

Let the "bashing" go on... I love my truck, and wouldn't trade it for anything. We true Tacoma believers will go undeterred. Bashing is for pos whiners who need a tow every time they leave there house.

There is definitely a conflict of interest here. These hearings are a joke. I'm still mad at Toyota though.

Toyota was the big winner in the "clash for clunkers" shennanigans, much to Ford's (and probably congress') chagrin. I've wondered if this is just propoganda of a sort, one giant Ford / GM infomercial on all the news networks.

Jimmy Fallon said it best-

"Ford's new marketing slogan.... Ford; because Toyota's trying to kill you."

 

Let's be honest though, if this was Ford would you be saying the same thing? "conspiracy"?

As for Congress, they have to put on a show to say they did something for this very human, mob mentality. "Dingo ate my baby!" of 2010.

 

I don't think It's a conspiracy against Toyota, I think for the most part some of them wanted to put on a show and try to look serious in front of the public. Some of them that asked Mr. Toyoda questions had Toyota plants in their states/districts, and they did seem to care at the hearing today.
In order for it to be a conspiracy, a lot of them have to be in on it. But who knows, a few of them could be in on it lol; knowing how they are in D.C.
