Remember that dB is based on a logarithmic scale. This means that a 10dB reduction in sound is 10 times less sound. According to what I have read my system should be a 6 dB improvement which is a huge difference.

Did you add any sound dampener to places on the door other than whats shown? Inside of the door?

 

I started following this thread in the middle of last month and it was your post on Feb 18 showing your sound deadening pictures that got me to do some research. That led me to do my own sound deadening this weekend so it was all your fault that I had to spend my money.LOL It was everyone else's fault on this thread that convinced me to upgrade to the OEM+ system. That will happen when they have their next sale so that the savings can pay for some of the Dynamat. BTW, how old are you? I am probably older than you are. You can PM me if you do not want to make it public.

 

A lot of these guys went to higher extremes in their sound deadening than I did. I went the strip (little a long way) method. Seeing as the second day I got it a mower shattered my driver window, I was leary on covering the whole door and big holes. Still significant improvement.

 

And I'm probably older than both? Maybe!! I did the OEM and was going to do sound deadener but just too cold. I already have everything just waiting for warmer weather.

 

This whole site is expensive...I would've bet I was the old timer on this thread. I stand corrected.

 

I have you by several years but that does not mean that I don't enjoy nice music anymore. It is also nice to drive with less ambient noise and arrive at any destination with less stress.

Pft...thanks to this site, I've dropped over 5k in mods to my truck already. The OEM Audio was the best, followed by my new wheel/tire setup.

I was lucky, my truck came new with a lift, pro wheels and ko2's. My best mods are the OEM and Clazzio's...

 

I'm not lifting mine, but still gotta add predator steps, led interior lights, blackout emblem overlays, and waiting for the Anzo Sema Lights to come out. Pro headlights are too damn expensive lol.

Well it wasn't custom, other than stitching, they just sold out of the all-blacks in stock =\

 

How much do you have to remove to insulate between the cab and the bed? Any instructions/videos? I am looking to reduce road noise. Not yet ready to tackle the doors.

 

Take a look at this video for what needs to be removed to access the back of the cab:

 

I just did mine last weekend and I can tell you that the doors were easier than the back wall. The back wall took 12 square feet while the doors only took 7 square feet. The doors will also give you more bang for the buck.
