Great pic and a nice looking truck. Do you have factory mudflaps in the front? I have some of the shorter Husky flaps if you're interested. I only used them for about a year, but can't anymore with the 285's.

Yeah, factory front flaps. I've thought about cutting them down a tad, but was going to wait to see how much they dragged after the lift first.

You can have these if you're interested. You reuse some of the factory plastic clips and these come with a couple extra screws. The only thing you wouldn't get is the clear vinyl stick ons that go under the flap to help protect your paint.

Nailed it. Brad is just on the far SW edge of the metroplex too. Install went fairly easily, if anyone decided to add one, let me know and I'm happy to assist or at least steer you around a few of my 'oops's.

I'm down for a mod day sometime next month before jambo! I'm ordering my lift in this week and need to make time to install it along with some other things just sitting around the house. I'll hopefully have time next week to install my SSO Slimline bumper and winch:fingerscrossed:. Still want to order a CB, have OBA and hood struts to install. Then theres also figuring out what i'm going to do with some POD lights that I need to either buy a wiring harness for or make one, along with getting some ditch light brackets or make them reverse lights mounted on the bed rails. I think thats about it for now.

The harness would be great and make things simple. I'll have to figure out where they are getting mounted and get mounts.

I havent ordered the suspension yet but I am going to go OME w/886's and Dakars. I may remove the 3rd leaf to soften them up ~15% and it takes out around 1/2" of lift. I'm not sure I'll want the full set since it provides a 2.75"-3" lift and the fronts only supposed to be at up 2". Also I dont have much weight to the back when I take trips so I think it will keep from getting too much rake, atleast for now. It was great getting to feel the suspension in @thedrewsifer's truck on sunday and it sold me on the setup.

Why 886's if you don't mind me asking? You have a hidden winch and sliders now, are you adding any other weight?

Bumper and winch is about 130lbs and I still need to add a full set of skids this year. IFS is going to end up around 60lbs, so at that point i'm nearing 200lbs up front. I dont think the trans or Tcase skid will put much on the front but they are going to be another 80lbs under the truck. I think the sliders came in around 80-90lbs a pc.
Do you see any fault in my thinking? I dont know what I'm doing, just researching and going with what I think is going to turn out best without getting my truck repo'd!

Then theres also bedrack and RTT, along with stereo and maybe gas tank skid. Thats obviously more on the leafs though not the 886's. That covers about everything I'm planning to get done this year.

You can have the harness, i dont need it. Should be plenty for pods since I was designed for a 60 watt bar

Supposedly a harsh ride with minimal weight, but I have not riden in a truck with them weighed down or not. I have 885's and now that I've added weight up front I like the ride a lot better, but I also have spacers for added height. (Did not know about 887's back when I bought my lift) I will be going to ADS when I upgrade with an eibach 650# spring so close to 886's 660# rating. Just gathering info for myself as well, nothing but hearsay on my end

Cool, I just wanted to make sure there wasnt something else I didnt know about. I had read about the stiffness without enough weight up front and was initially worried but I was able to ride in @thedrewsifer's truck on saturday and he is running the same lift with skids and sliders, no bumper or winch. His truck rode well and the stiffness upfront didnt feel bad at all. It may be partially because the 3rd gens stock springs are around 700lbs from what i've read.

Really need to get a ride in someone's truck with 885's with a little weight in front, don't really plan to go full skids, an IFS skid, maybe an aluminum model might be in the future, but the truck isn't going to really see anything hard core enough for full steel skids any time soon. I'm not aiming for anything more than 2.5" in the front so thoses should be plenty for my goals, anything 2+ I'll be satisfied with. Wishin I had made the meet on Saturday, wedding went longer than anticipated and then wife wanted to do lunch since she couldn't eat much at the wedding.

Theres always next month! I'd offer a ride in mine once I get and install it but i'm also a 3rd gen so i'm not sure how useful it would be.

Can take a ride in mine.

Hybrid front, winch, alum IFS and mid skids. 885s with 5100s. May be pretty close to your weight since youre 4x4. With the weight im probably sagged to just over 2 inches. You can tell the weight is up there, its just not as snappy as it was before, im aiming for 650 or 700lb springs next.

Edit: i do have a bunch of other weight also elsewhere that isnt helping, including the driver

Hoping to have my install done probably end of the month, early May at the latest. Got 3 months to spend $4k on this new CCard I just signed up for. It's almost like I have a free pass to go crazy with the mods... though I still have to pay for a new camera lens ($1k-ish) as well so that's a chunk of it.
