Our daycare is similar. 20 minutes closer to NYC, our housing costs are also very similar. Where I live is 45 miles outside NYC. Just far enough to be considered "the stix" so houses cost about 30-40% less. Taxes are very high though.

It's crazy what things cost these days. In 1995, I moved into the lower half of a duplex, two bedroom where the landlord lived above, recent divorcee. $1200 at the time. When I met my wife we thought the place was too small and moved into a bigger place. It was right on the beach. 8 years ago we found a house 3 doors down because I loved this area. That same downstairs, owned by the same guy, although he bought the 3 houses across the street and tore them down and built new ones which he lives in one of them, still owns the duplex. It's available for $3500 a month now. Luckily taxes are nowhere near as bad. Sales tax is high, almost 10%

The same shit everyone else has.
Put some more effort in sealing off the bed for when I put the the Supertop back on for camping season.

    - Added weatherstripping under the side bed rail caps
    - Added weatherstripping under the tailgate cap
    - Added weatherstripping across the front of the bed rail
    - Added weatherstripping along the bottom side of the tailgate
    - Added weatherstripping along the bed corners where the tailgate meets

I need to do some research on how seal the cubbies and the bed pockets next

This should keep the majority of the dust and moisture outta the bed and make camping more comfortable.

Just for reference; we "own" a 4 bedroom/2 bath home. Our taxes are almost 11,000$ per year. I think our sales tax is 7%.

Damn! That is some high tax there. 3 bedroom, 4 bath and our tax is half of what you have.

Property tax on my 3/2 was $2,700 here last year...For the first time in the four years I have lived in the house, my mortgage payment actually went down.

Honestly. I don't get it. Why do we have to pay so much more than the rest of the country?

That's a very good possibility right there.

Same here. We're considered the "burbs" of NYC. Peeps buy here and commute into the city. But my taxes aren't as high as yours though. Yours are fucking crazy.
