Depends how much clearance you have at full turn, With enough trimming, anything is possible, on the 2nd gen, the XL the flaps are mounted outside the wheel well if it's that big of a concern

Any word on how to order the short version for oversized tires?

 

Edit: I think I misunderstood your question now that I posted this but I think you should be able to select them when adding to your cart.

 

I still don't see a drop down option for the oversized tires.

It says the short version isn't offered in the oversized tires option for 2nd and 3rd gen. Only 2nd gen regular sized flaps are offered in a short version.
