I have a 2016 Tacoma with less than 10000 miles on it. The transmission shifts constantly when I encounter any kind of incline. You have to really mash the gas to get it up the incline and it sounds like a small car trying to huff and puff its way up. I tried using the ecu which gives you some more power but the RPMs are so high you might have just as well not used that. I love the truck and hope Toyota will come up with a fix for this issue soon. I will be taking it in soon for the 10000 mile oil change and tire rotation and maybe something can be done for this issue.

First I ever heard of a transmission issue. Weird.

Someone needs to make a sticky with links to all the transmission issue threads. Or just one centralized automatic transmission bitch thread. Meanwhile manual owners be like:

Your issue is how the engine/transmission combo was designed to achieve maximum fuel economy. If Toyota were to fix your problem then people would complain about crappy fuel economy. It would be a feather in Toyota's cap to have the best fuel economy in the mid-size truck class.

But Toyota doesn't have best-in-class fuel economy. The Colorado/Canyon do better, even without the Diesel in the equation.

    Hell's Bells .... I stand corrected.

In my opinion, Toyota hasn't publicly addressed this issue, I think they are happy with what they are offering.

Today my local dealer reminded me that all future transmission flashes would be covered under warranty, so I should go ahead and order now.

when I was there about 4-6 months ago for my last oil change there wasn't an update at that time, and I'd already had one update done when they fixed the low tranny oil issue that a lot of us had experienced. (and my oil was that 3/4 quart low)

Can you see if the dealer put a sticker under your good? If so, can you write down the calibration numbers listed there and post them?

If there is no sticker If the dealer could print the actual TSB out for you there is a calibration table with calibration ID's that you could post as well.

Getting the calibration ID's is the only way to verify that there is a New revision.

I'm not going to bother them with all of that noise! but they did say the TSB---T-SB-0077-16--- IS up on the web site to look at.
