really interested in seeing how this works out. I have a plan for three left, three right, and two on the rear. I jut need to figure out how I am going to get all 8 cables ran. Can I series this up? one switch for left, one for right, etc.? And then just daisy chain them?... hmm I need to go wade into the electrical forum and start asking questions. Drunken ramblings over.. have a nice weekend.

Interesting - I'm still having a lot of wind noise issues. You mention getting the flaring flush with the first bar, but in my experience if I lower the flaring to the lowest position as suggested, the flaring is actually slightly lower than the first bar position. I've moved the bar back some but the noise is still very loud on the highway @ >65mph speeds. So loud I can't talk on the phone or carry on a conversation in the car without yelling.... May also cover up those holes which does cause some whistling - which I can deal with, just the loud roar that's not going to work for me.

What do you perceive as "wind noise"?
Is it just like the expected sound of wind rushing over the fairing and bars or is it a turbulent low rumble/hum/vibration that you can feel..?
I live in the wind capital of the world and heading west to the mountains we can experience 100+kmh winds not including driving.
I have the fairing positioned at the lowest point and i dropped the 1st crossbar lower than the rest to match the height of the top of the fairing.
Again, in addition I also filled the gaps in the 1st rail with those T-Slot covers which was the culprit for the "low rumble/hum/vibration"
So in my HWY driving conditions I have killed most noise that I can't handle, the rest we can cope with and don't even notice anymore.
Another plan we have is to dynamat the roof to cut more noise, especially with the kayaks we will be carrying up top.
I see you carry kayaks up there!?
Were about to purchase 2 sets of folding J Racks to mount up top. What do you use!?
Im concerned about how they mount on the underside of the rails and to the rails themselves. These aren't common rails for most roof racks if any.

As for the wind noise, it's a nearly deafening roar above around 65-70. Appears to be primarily coming from the airflow around the sides of the deflector where air can move freely. After numerous tweaks I keep inching closer, but still can't drive normal interstate speeds of ~75mph without having to yell to carry on a conversation and my bluetooth is useless on the highway with the rack. I've actually removed the front cross bar such that the first placement of a bar is where generally folks put their second. I've installed t-slot covers all over and that definitely helped some with the vibrations - though I still get some in the rear of the cab. Also took your advice and used some electrical tape to cover the open holes in the front which has taken care of the whistling. What hardware did you use to cover these permanently?

It's getting closer... any more tips are welcome.

As for the kayaks, I use a Thule stacker. Primarily b/c the use of my prinsu is generally to carry a lot of boats when we shuttle on remote whitewater rivers. I can easily stack 4 boats on their side (6 if I want to get creative) with that setup on the cab. For just my boat, I use the Thule Hull-a-port Pro on the ends of my yakima bars that are attached to my Truck Covers USA rack set up to keep the boat behind the cab for long distances. I also use the Thule paddle holders on the ends of the bars (or attached to the side of the prinsu) to keep the paddles out of the bed.

Sorry you're struggling with it. Sounds like you've done most things to fix the issue.. I can safely say rolling at why speed on a non windy day we can easily have a conversation and listen to music on low. Don't get me wrong there is definitely noise, we've come to accept it and we fully expected it. Have you tried the supplied fairing rubber wind noise reducer thingy? lol
I didn't bother with it cause it looks like shit...

Another thing that you may have overlooked, since you have done the T-slot covers. Have you applied them to the cross bar holding the fairing in place? I did all 3 sides that are exposed, helped LOTS.

I had a nightmare last night, someone else in my city had a Prinsu on their tacoma..

Any solutions yet for 3gen owners and that rear crossbar?
I want it at the rear position, not standing vertical so i can use it for my j-rack mounting point.
Is there a low profile antenna fin yet? Can i modify it?
We don't use the radio or satellite radio..

I do use the rubber wind noise reducer thingy - perhaps I should try without and see how that works. I have covered 2 sides of the bar holding the flaring, but will cover the rest and see how that works out. I know there should be some noise, no doubt - I've owned numerous racks, but it should be background noise - not the foreground. and that's where it's at right now on the highway at least.

Will try some more tweaks and report back.

3gens antenna is pretty high.. Ill take another look.
I know a single wide bar is a possibility but is it sturdy enough to stand on like the double wide?

I assume that keeps wind from passing under the fairing, however i bet it creates lots of turbulence up front..
I didn't even try the thing. Also, i imagine stuff like leaves etc. get stuck between it and the roof..

If it's for the cabrac (the one over the roof), these won't fit like I guess you're thinking. I have two of them. Also, cheaper on Amazon. You could probably find a way to mount them, but you lose the versatility of rotating them. If you do end up getting them and mounting them, tag me so I can see your final results as I haven't liked and way I've come up with to mount them.
