TW's active 4runner builders BS thread

this thing was rutted more than a washboard road and destroyed by our rain. Still not enough testing though. im bringing paracord to pismo just in case latch offs itself.

 

When I put my propane mount on, I had 4 holes drilled to mount it. I got 3 bolts through, and I cross threaded the last one and had to break it off. Didn't have a spare, so right now there are just 3. No big, it's not going to fall off, but it rattles with vibration. Driving in my parking lot was enough of a test. Hoping to have an hour off this weekend to run by osh and grab a spare. Need to secure it fully before any trails.

 

My Jerry Can holder comes next week I think! People in the group buy are already receiving their kings, and my Icon springs have been on order for a couple weeks now so I'm hoping all of those things come in the next 2 weeks. Then the bumper set up will be done, the rear suspension will be done (Pending rebuild on shocks), and front suspension will be done and for sale.

Hopefully I have time to do all that work...

Original gate i bought off someone for a project idea starter.



Test fitting and seeing what angle we need and whatnot



We boxed in the hinge after we found the right angle and where it lines up right. Then we basically started over with it. Cut everything off, cleaned it all up. Remade the support tube and side supports. Changed the angle of the tire to being straight up and down. Basically remade the whole damn thing.



Took my bumper apart, into three parts. Then began trimming so it would be as clean as possible.


Put it back together for a test fit, also painted the center trim satin black to match the hood.

 

So clean it's dirty.

Also pretty sure I have those same Nike's.
