    Hello All,

I recently installed a supercharger on my Taco. Since installation it has a weird shift into 5th gear. It is is tuned with a Bullydog tuner. Premium tune with performance shift. This has been hard to troubleshoot, sometimes is shifts fine and other times it doesn't. It is erratic. If I baby it, say around town driving, it shifts okay most of the time. If I accelerate moderately, say going down an on ramp it won't shift, I have to shift manually or it will stay in fourth gear until who knows when. If I romp on it, it shifts fine. Sometimes with moderate acceleration it will shift but it lags (slips) going into gear. It shifts fine manually. If I return the tune to stock it shifts fine. It shifts fine in all other gears.

Took in to Toyota to have the trans looked at, all is okay. No excess debris in pan.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Any advice would be help full. I certainly don't wan to smoke 5th gear. But I think I may if this continues.

    Thanks, John

My spidey senses are telling me it has something to do with your tune and nothing to do with your transmission. It's software, not hardware. But lets see what someone with experience with the new SC have to say. I have none.

get rid of the horrible thing known as a bullydog tuner, go to toyota, and get the proper TRD supercharger tune flashed on the trucks ECU and never have to worry about shifts.
