I am excited to hopefully join in on some of the future ones with college ending. Great group though and a good first wheeling trip for me.

I have only gotten that much back once when i worked on the Slope for a summer and made a shit load in 8 weeks.

Usually under a grand really. If i am lucky its a few hundred.

was a unique and fun way to do a big trip like that.

 

Getting a big tax refund means you had too much withheld on your paychecks.

I'd rather not give the government an interest free loan. I just adjusted my withholding so I'll be also close to zero refund as possible. I don't even mind paying in a little, just means I got that money with each paycheck instead of a refund from the IRS.

 

eh. I don't care if the gov makes money of the interest.

Fine by me.

Taxes pay for a lot of shit and i have 0 problems paying taxes or them making interest off it.

Granted, yes, i don't get a big say in what the money goes towards a lot...but still. I am okay with it for the most part.

 

I pay every year claiming Zero both me and my wife haha. Fuck taxes

 

I don't think you're following what I'm saying.

The refund you get is from an overpayment on your federal withholding. I'm saying I would rather not overpay.

The refund you get back does not include interest. Whereas if I received that same overpayment when I get paid, I could do something without having to ask the IRS for it back.

 

You probably used to get a decent chunk back for being a full time student. Mines varies but generally is pretty good considering I don't earn much taxable income.

But i have had to pay taxes a few times. And would MUCH rather get some back then have a surprise payment due in the spring. Screw that.

Plus i generally make enough to be fine without it until spring.

Getting a refund is great for those that can't save .

Hispur was like that in the Maze.

But i think Goose lake and Shoshone Lake are better. Hell that time we camped in the valley below Wolverine was awesome.

Idk. Hard to say whats the best. To me, everyone of us wants to go back to Goose. that says a lot.

The Lake up by Moly was awesome too.
