Yeah I was in the middle of moving at that point. Now I have a good amount of downtime at work, so I fill the voids with various car forums.

 

Company provides insurance for us....

 

Trying to decide if I should replace my needle bearing with the ECGS one when I install my lift. Has anyone done it? Does anyone have the removal tool for it? $60 seems steep for something I'll use once.

 

I have the tool and bearing - haven't done mine yet. I was going to do mine when I do the fluid change on the system right before installing my lift. If you want to borrow the tool you're more than welcome to... only catch is I'm never home haha

 

I hear that. So you're basically doing your lift and the bearing swap at the same time then, right? It would probably be worth it for me to do it too... Hmm.

 

Technically yes however I'll be doing the bearing one day and then the lift the following weekend to make sure everything is kosher before moving forward.

 

That's not a bad plan. Got me thinking now. Wait for the noise to start, or get ahead of it...

I might just do it and do the fluid flush at a later time. I have 28k on the fluids in the vehicle at the moment.

 

I think we definitely should! That would be fun.

I've got a fluid flush coming soon too, just about to tap 60k. Two birds one stone.

So, here's a BIG can o' worms. What fluid should I use?

 

I have royal purple in the engine, and Redline in the drive train.

 

Mobile 1 if you want to get something easy to find. Redline or AMSOIL if you want to go boutique high end brands. I have AMSOIL in mine and run Redline before that

 

I used Mobil 1. Easy to find at autoparts stores

 

Pretty much what I thought I'd hear from you guys. Thanks. Fluids are fluids whether it's a street-mod autocrosser or a 4wd truck. I'll probably just make a list of the quantities needed, visit the local NAPA and wait for a warm day when the ski slopes and bike trails both have an amount of mud on them to render them useless/less than enjoyable.

 

I run Motul in all of my vehicles so I'll be switching the truck to Motul at some point...
