Back in FL, I would eat BBQ at least once a week. Usually more often than that. Now, its maybe every other month at best.

As Kenneth stated, Hard 8 is about as good as I have found. If I'm craving a Pulled Pork sandwich, Risky's is about the best that I have found.

I will give TX BBQ credit where credit is due....they have brisket pretty much figured out. However, BBQ is so much more than that. I'll take fall-off-the-bone smoked pork ribs over TX Brisket any day of the week.

And every neighborhood has 13 backyards with better.

Hard 8 is mediocre at best compared to some of the legit spots in dallas.

I honestly eat BBQ at home mostly. I honestly think my BBQ is better than the majority of places I've tried. But there are far better places to eat than my backyard. Locally mine is better. 3 stacks sucks. Hutchins is ok. Hard 8 is ok. I'm in Prosper so fuck driving to Dallas. I'll just pop a brisket in the smoker and wait 15-20 hours

Rudy's in San Antonio is better than Rudy's in Austin. Their turkey is really good, and I second your nomination on their sausage. Their creamed corn is a banned substance in 32 other states.

Black's in Lockhart has the best ribs I've had outside St. Louis. Not saying they're the best in Texas, only that I haven't found it yet. Their brisket is definitely top-10 in Texas as well - Franklin's quality. Place is family owned, 5th generation, and the love shows.

I wasn't impressed with Blacks at all. Hutchins was better. I went way out of my way to eat there. I wanted to like it. It was ok. I'd eat hard 8 over both of them

Rudy's breakfast tacos are the only thing I'll order from there.
