    SOLD!!!

    I have a Clockspring (Spiral Cable) from my '05 Taco. It's in excellent condition. I'm selling since I recently replaced it with a new one that also supports audio controls. This one supports the DS-Airbag, Horn & Cruise Control. Dealer sells for these for $266.91 (#84306-04080). Asking $75 + shipping.

    So did you upgrade your truck to have the audio controls in the steering wheel?

    Yes, that's why I'm selling my original "standard size" airbag cover.

    Premium clockspring (eBay): $80
    Audio controls (eBay): $35
    Small airbag cover (eBay): $70

    Total = $185

    You could cut cost by carefully "trimming" your existing airbag cover.
    All in all, I found the entire project to be straight forward. Just follow all precautions listed in the service manual when dealing with the airbag.

    Not handy, but my buddy who has a '09 Taco has told me he can't tell the difference from his. Since the 2010 is identical to the '09, you can look at interior photos on www.toyota.com

    I could provide you part #s, but buying new would be cost prohibitive ($1000+). The only practical way to do these mods is to go on a Easter Egg hunt. Look on eBay, TW, craiglist, etc. Besides, finding a great bargain is half the fun of modding! Incidently, the airbag cover is not available in the US - only the entire airbag (~350 used). I found my cover on eBay from a reputable Taiwanese supplier.

    Never heard of a "common" issue with the airbag light coming on after 50k. That said, a faulty clockspring can certainly be the culprit of the airbag light coming on (horn &/or cruise no longer working as well). You can verify this as the cause by removing the clockspring and performing a continuity check across the terminal pins from input to output. If your clockspring is indeed faulty and you do not have audio controls on your steering wheel, then you may want to seriously consider purchasing the clockspring I currently have for sale.

    just from what ive read here, i have yet to get it diagnosed or anything. horn works, dont have cc... just the annoying light on the dash.
    im going to search for a how to on the clock spring and if i feel i can handle it i may pick this up from you if i can see if thats the fault.

    thanks for the quick response. You are lucky, I just cant find it. Do you know if yours is something like this one. this is a toyota 4runner clockspring, but I thing it looks the same, but im not sure.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140535495896#ht_3573wt_937

    I check some that comes from japan but instead of having one harness receiver it got two. So it looks like this one.

    I'm not sure if those would work. Id think you specifically need the taco one. This isn't something to mess with. It could save yiur life.
