Ok guys... somehow i have misplaced my keys with the master and the key fob. I backed the truck in the garage thursday night and haven't driven it since... i don't know if they are aroudn my house someplace or if they somehow fell out of my pocket when i was driing my wifes car.

My Question is what is the differance between the vallet and the master?

if i buy a new key off ebay or someplace does anyone has the instructions to add it to the system?

I have and extra Master and FOB and one vallet.

    thanks in advance...

i don't think there is a difference in this case. usually the valet key will only lock/unlock the doors. and they wont work for the trunk or locking glovebox. so i dont know

Yep, valet just doesn't unlock the glove compartment. A friend of mine has been driving around with only the valet key for over a year.

Do you still have the little metal tag with a number imprinted on it that came with the keys? If so the dealer can create a new master key.

Blank keys and extra fobs can be had online and cut by anyone that cuts keys... but you'll need to activate them both with the security system. I don't know if this can be done ourselves or if the dealer has to do it.

    Good luck!

I don't have the tag... but i do have a spare MASTER...
Here are instructions I found I will let you guys know if it works..

    2002+ TOYOTA, LEXUS

Requires one working Toyota/Lexus Master Key.

    1. Make sure all doors and windows are closed.
    2. Insert Master key into the ignition cylinder.
    3. Cycle the ignition cylinder from On to OFF five times.
    4. Open and close the driver side door 6 times.
    5. Remove the Master Key and insert the new duplicates key.
    6. TURN THE IGNITION CYLINDER ON.
    7. The new key will be registered after 60 seconds. The THEFT light on the dashboard will go out, indicating that programming has been completed.

Toyota Techs.... anyone know if this works???

i JUST went through this. So all i had was the gray valet key. you cannot make a copy using that key. you must have your black key to make copies. if you do not have the black key, then you must get the computer flashed and both your gray key and a new black key flashed. The key is about 60 bucks at the factory (Find one on ebay, they go for cheaper there), re-flashing the comp was somewhere around $125-$150. Expensive key, but kind of necessary for me considering all i had was ONE gray key. I have my black key in a very safe spot.

Like i said in my original post. I still have ONE Master Key and One Vallet Key... I just though about getting another master so i had two Masters and One Vallet Key. ..

I also had to do what you did on my last truck... (It only came with a vallet key and i wanted a spare key... just in case.)
