I was thinking I would do both weld and bolt. I am unable to weld at this time as I do not have the equipment or skills.

Pay someone to do it. I'd rather not drill 32 holes in my frame only to weld it on later.

Tacoma world has regional threads. Head to yours and ask the BS thread what local shops they have tried and go from there. Took me about 4 hours total for prep and welding.

Do what @Delta00 has said but also ask in the BS thread if there is a welder local. I guarantee there will be at least one or know of one.

Finally aligned! And the tech who did it had worked on a few Tacomas and knew the adjusters were tough to work with but was able to get it as much in spec as the lift would allow.

Yeah I need some UCAs for sure. I will use the tax return for that I guess. Doesn't really fight me on the road or wander though so UCAs hadn't really worked their way up my list until recently because the extended Icons say they're necessary for full droop.

yea. I need them for alignment specs too. And extended COs. But mostly alignment to keep my tires from rubbing. Tall bitches.

That was completely foreign to me until the other day when I got to shakedown the icons. I had never rubbed before and all of a sudden with 1.25in of lift gone I'm rubbing all the things.

you needed to offroad more then :p

i only rub now when flexing and turning. Still have almost no lift. But pisses me off. Was perfect before but let a different shop do my last alignment. Be going back to my normal one soon i hope.

I like it being lower now. My whole issue before was that the Billies and Eibachs didnt really compress, they bounced, so I wouldn't be turning with the wheel tucked. Now the suspension plays along and it has already made a couple obstacles much easier.

What I did today was found out the cancer on my poor truck is mine to deal with. Toyota Corp. and my dealer tell me is to late to do anything, because the PO didn't get the frame sprayed!! :annoyed::pout:So..... I guess the PO was laughing all the way to the bank. Ugh. oh well live and learn I guess.

My LBJs were replaced back in...2006? Or whenever it was that the recall was issued. So I've already used up that freebie. Now it's on me.

I knew when I bought it that mine hadn't been sprayed/brought in. Arguably stupid for me to have bought it, but eh. The frame looked fine, and held up to a hammer. Nonetheless, what an awful feeling, knowing that you have zero chance of a free frame swap. Definitely something I keep in mind.

Well it has been an expensive week so far. The truck should be going in for a frame replacement any week now, so today I purchased a full OME kit from @HeadStrong Off-Road with 882s, deaver AAL, diff drop, exhaust bracket, also purchased OEM LBJs from Conicelli toyota. Nigel (my truck) is about to hit the 150,xxx so I am really trying to make him ride like new after the frame swap. Any other suggestions for front end parts? Maybe new rack bushings?
