future plan of 2" drop and any type of rim thats not a steelie. grille and BHLM mods, maybe....
Ok, i can figure out almost any backspacing on a RWD rim, but the whole FWD rim on a 2wd Tacoma throws me. I have the ugly ass 15x6 steelies and want to upgrade to 17 or 18s. i know the Xrunner is a 18x8 30mm offset, now i want my rims to go out alittle more towards the fenderlip. do i get a 18x8 with MORE or LESS of a offset...and i want a POSITIVE offset, correct? so if i were to order 18x8 with 20mm POSITIVE offset, it will push the rim OUT towards the fender more???

i see ALOT of 5x114.3 rims i like ranging from 7.5-8.5 wide, i want the narrower rims for a 245 45 18 (or equivalent 17") or as close to OEM diameter as possible. with a 245 id like to stick to the 7.5-8" so if anyone can speak up about the offset i think i need/want, id appreciate it. as the offsets change my selection narrows ALOT....most are 18x7 with 30mm...i also would consider stock Lexus spoke rims and/or any OEM style rim...RX8  but want it to give a wider stance. im going to lower the truck 1.7"/2.2" with the sittinsic coils and leafs (maybe blocks first) so rubbing shouldnt be an issue. thanks in advance everyone.

xrunner wheels on my 5 lug are flat with the fender, running less offset will make them stick out more like you mentioned

I think those wheels look very good. I think that if you go with a low profile tire without dropping the truck it wont look too good. Im running 235/55/18 it altered the speed a bit but not a huge difference. Here is a pic if it helps http://nitropr.net/misc/tacoma/IMG_3149%20%28Large%29.JPG

For reference our stock wheels are 15x6 with +45mm offset and the X-Runner wheels I think I saw a mark behind mine that said 18x7.5 and 30mm offset. I think those wheels you posted should be close if not flat with the outer side of the fender

Would wheels with a 18 offset fit on my 5 lug?
