Those are some good photos! How long did you have to leave the shutter open for those exposures?

The base 4x4 models have an open diff or limited slip diff??

Hey @Silverspool ... you need to call tandem....

See, some people say its bad to have a purchase list... but Frank here decided to make a list of the money he has spent... i think i would stop buying stuff for my truck if i had that list!

I am going to just wear down the tires i have now and get 285s when i need new ones. I got my 265s when i was at stock height, wasnt planning to get a lift so soon but oh well.

Man that is a shitty website! That front page looks terrible!

Well, my list started as a purchase list. Then it became a purchased list.

~20 sec most likely. I think the second one is a 2-image set, one for the truck at a longer exposure to evenly light the truck under extremely low lighting, the other for the milky way at a higher ISO to prevent star trails.

Something like that. I do a lot of blending in Photoshop for my landscape photography work - mostly to overcome the limitations of the camera's ability to take in light vs what the human eye can. Or situations like a waterfall where I want the water to move, but not the leaves in the trees or such all around. For astrophotography I'll take one shot at a low ISO for the foreground so it's clean (ie: not noisy which ruins details) and then a second shot at a higher ISO to capture the sky. It's amazing how much the stars move in 30 seconds!

Too bad you're not coming on the Big Bend trip. I'm hoping to mess around with my camera and take some cool night shots. I'm just dipping my toes into photography so your tips/tricks would come in handy.

    Truck stuff
I was going to try my luck at night shots when I went to BB in nov. Well after some drinking I go to grab the tripod and setup and as I extended the legs 2 of the just fell off and the pcs that hold them in place went all over the ground. There's always the chance my strength might have been a little much causing the tripod to break (not likely because I'm pretty damn weak) or I was given a broken tripod. Sadly with no tripod I gave up on trying to get night shots but still enjoyed the night sky! Next time I'm going to make sure I have a working tripod before I get there or start drinking.

I will have to play with mine when i get to Big Bend. I imagine there will be a lot of people doing night photography out there.

well actually take a shit load of photos, pick the best 2 then add.....

Photoshop is where i need to practice, but i dont want to pay retard $$$ for it! And pirated versions wont update...

Photoshop & LR CC is $9.99/mo, that's like 2 trips to Starbucks. Or get GIMP, free, but basically like Photoshop CS4 or something (been a while so not sure if they've done an major updates). I also do photography processing tutorials (all $$ goes directly into the truck&travel fund!)

I have GIMP on my work Linux box, but i dont ever mess with it, usually used for work. I have little photo editing experience, and even less experience with photoshop. I didnt know that you could subscribe to photoshop now. I guess you download an app, sign it and use it??
