Eh, I don't off road anyway, I'd be a wicked poser. Or more of a poser that I already am with a TRD O/R.

I have an aluminum bumper support if you need one.... If you don't off road I wouldn't bother plus the 4-6 week wait sucks.

So, I went to show my Impreza to 2 perspective buyers yesterday. I've been driving it for the last week or so.

I get to my summer place, meet the people, show them around the car, then go to start it.... Starter took a shit. No clicking, no bogged crank. NOTHING.

Fuck my life. Now I have to dump another $100 into the damn thing.

You might be a "poser" but it's a definite upgrade for sure and would offer so much more protection if in case this was to happen again or a deer or anything. If shipping is what you're worried about then I would say an SOS as well because he's on the right side of this beautiful country of ours!:oldglory:

If only SOS made a hybrid or tube bumper! That shipping is hard to beat!

Explain this statement to a dumby like me... what is a hybrid and why would I want a tube bumper.. I hear everyone using the term "plate" bumper, isn't that what I would want?

They are all just different styles. A Plate bumper is flat plate steel all around the front. A Tube bumper uses rounded DOM steel tubes instead for a lighter bumper with a very different look. A hybrid bumper is a hybrid of these two. Usually plate steel in the center with tube steel on either side in front of the wheel wells. Some tube bumpers also "fill in" the tubes with plate steel.

There probably is some small difference in how much force they can withstand, but on the scale of a collision I'm not sure how much of a difference it'll make. There is a larger difference in weight. A plate bumper is usually 130lbs or higher, where as a tube bumper can be as low as 80lbs. This matters for suspension and mileage.

Good luck finding a tube bumper though. I love the look and haven't been able to find one yet!

That looks like rear tube bumper. Where'd you find that? I may want it if it's 2nd gen and all that haha

Those ones are awesome! A buddy of mine had one on his 4Runner.

Tell me about it. I washed the FJ the other day. It snowed last night... Now it is covered in salt again.... :frusty:

Yeah I'm currently trying to figure out how I could mount some pod lights onto the front of one of those under the center hoop. Probably going to end up welding light tabs there. If I can figure that out I may end up ordering one.

I'm actually trying to figure that out for both the Addicted Offroad and the Trail Gear.

I think there is tabs on the tube that go over the plate (right above the winch if installed)
