Replacement AC pipe showed up. Naturally, mine has been discontinued. The new one looks like what @Ice Horse has on her pic.
The TSB states that it was replaced to reduce vibration from the beer can thingy.

And there is a shit ton of new brackets to go with it. Not gonna be a simple repair. I'll post about this mess in my build thread in case somebody else has to deal with it.

    My condolences about your friend.

Whenever I see motorcyclists doing this it makes me cringe and shake my head. And I know there are motorcyclists who claim this practice is actually safer for them (I have no idea I have never ridden a motorcycle) it also seems incongruent with the campaign aimed at cars/trucks to make motorcycle riding safer.

    We're in a transitional period..
it's too nice to stay inside. Prolly won't get back to it until fall, or maybe this weekend, whichever snows first.

I have the link at the bottom of my sig. Vote to make it a sticky and it may happen. There is a poll.

    Plethora of "useless" shit
Yup, agreed. I never understood it other than you get someplace faster and can't get crunched in between two cars(one rear ending the other). It just adds too many additional variables though, including people on their phones/texting and blind spots. The truck driver in his incident didn't even know he was under him until someone waved him down.
I miss my friend greatly but i feel he is just as at fault as well putting himself in that situation.

Wow, can't believe I didn't notice it especially since I looked there for your build page just a bit ago.

Distracted driving is dangerous to everyone around. I'm more focused on people stuck in traffic and in haste to switch lanes because they think that maneuver will save them time. Seems likely to hit a motorcycle doing 30 mph or so in between lanes when you're hopping from one lane to the other in 5 mph traffic.

We get it, you drive a Prius and don't waste gas sitting in stopped traffic because your car goes into EV mode.

For a bike to be going that much faster between cars is asking for some jerk to cut them off. If you must lane split to get somewhere faster there is a shoulder.
