I have a 04 double cab. I want to upgrade the sound system but want to keep it simple and don't want to cut things to fit. Any ideas?

3" ome lift 883. Fnfx pros.
New double din cd/dvd deck and add a Rockville slim 8" sub under the passenger seat should be good to go with not much modifications other than running power to the speaker. Could easily be done for under $350-400

Get with Mr. Marv on here.....I bought some speakers and brackets from him....Very easy install. Put a 10 in behind back seat in a custom box.....Someone on here is selling one for 70 bucks. Found a cheap 900 watt 5 channel amp off Craigslist....Sounds great

    What's your budget?

Sound deadening your doors and rear wall so be on the list for sure.

Our trucks are resonant metal cans. If you put $500 worth of upgrades equipment in the stock cab it'll still sound very resonant.

Best bang for the buck mod I've done on my truck is the sound deadening.

Custom box for a 10" woofer behind the rear seat with an amp on the other side, Kenwood DPX500BT receiver (matches dash lighting) and Rockford-Fosgate speakers and tweeters. Sounds excellent. If I had to do it over, I would have used sound deadening on the roof and door panels at the same time.

I just replaced the factory speakers in my '03 Dbl Cab last Saturday. Hadn't planned on it, but the factory cd player was starting to give problems so I purchased a JVC KW-R925BTS receiver and 4 JVC 5 1/4" speakers from Crutchfield. Nothing fancy or expensive, but the difference in sound is incredible. You can see the old one out of the drivers side front door below.
Going to age myself here, but what happened to the Alpine radios with the Green Buttons!!!!!
TIP: According to Crutchfield's website, there isn't a replacement speaker harness for the front speakers, so you'll have to cut them and crimp/solder on the speaker leads. A speaker harness is included for the rear speakers.
The Positive Speaker Wire is solid Red. Again, this is on my '03 Tacoma DBL Cab. I can't imagine it being different for an '04.

Thanks guys. My budget is what I have at the time lol. I just tired of not having any bass. Was thinking of changing out the head unit and the speakers.
