Any write up on the assembly? The only part that made me not so happy was the vacuum sensor stuff. Did you need to drill to make it fit? Or cut the aluminum?

Doesn't sound too bad then. The grommets just go in the hole you drill - no welding?

He would be alright with it I think. It's in the spirit of his original post.

I am pretty much to the point if I buy from the dealer i just sign the invoice and glance at the amount .

Then just pay the monthly statement .

Toytec coilovers. Height adjustable Bilstein's. 265/75/16 MT. TRD wheels. Rebuilt r150f. Marlin clutch kit. All kinds of new parts...
I paid $80.00 for the OEM tube. I removed the silencers and plugged the holes to clean it up. Made sure all stock vacuum lines are still being used. Towards the Airbox there is a small "J" Shaped plug. This is to catch any water if it makes it's way into the intake. I will never most likely subject my pickup to that much water but there for a reason. I saw that Airraid tube as well but the price wasn't great. Cool looking though!

Take your tube to a Muffler shop and tell them to use aluminized tube and bend you a close carbon copy. A good shop can replicate that pretty fast and it will be MUCH cheaper. You will have to drill and add fittings. A can of Black Krylon will probably cost more than the tube.

I installed one of these on my 99 Tacoma when I had it. It is designed to deliver more power. I never noticed anymore power but it dos clean up the engine bay.

Brain fade....The tube looks like it goes to the vapor recovery, not the PCV!

It could be trimmed a bit, at the bottom, to make it less hassle to take on/off.

Gee this thread took off. I like the cheaper solution but don't like the metal tube which holds more heat. Could wrap it but more money and more work.

Cheaper is good, but here in CA the CARB certification gets me past the SMOG monsters

Aluminum tube, actually dissipates heat faster then the thick plastic/rubber and is always cool to the touch
