Nice! Good thing you are deciding to buy an aftermarket tonneau cover as the factory ones aren't as good and you get one from eBay a lot cheaper.

@burdweiser...I live in the love state of California where they like to tax the shiet out of everything...so my out of the door price including everything was $39.5K.

Any costco member can look up the price, but if you are not a member let me know the build you like and I can probably look it up

I honestly think that's about as good as a price you can get in California, especially with the 200 off. I got very lucky. My OTD price was 39k, base price being $150 over invoice. I tried talking them into taking out the TDA (Toyota Dealer Advertising) cost but they would have none of it. The dealer was acting really annoyed because I was trying to get the final price under 39k. In hindsight, given the demand for Tacomas in the bay area maybe they weren't actually blowing smoke up my ass when they said it was a great deal.

I got an Inferno SR5 4DR LB as loaded as you can get it. Power tailgate lock, all weather, automatic, window tint , P&T package, pinstripe (didn't care for it but it's growing on me), towing package, appearance package (color matched mirrors and fender flares), and I'm sure some other stuff I'm forgetting. They wanted $38,900 without any of the stuff they had done at the dealership (pin stripe, window tint, etc.) or any of the fees. I got them down to $36,500 out the door.

I agree...I shopped around 4 dealerships and tried to bargain and this was the best deal I could get. I even called the dealership down south (Fresno, Bakersfield, LA, Powey, San Diego) and no was going below 36.5K before taxes and fees. After dealing with 3 previous dealership, I didn't want to waste any time either. Every dealership kept saying they don't discount tacos because they have been selling like a hot cake (no competition). Plus, Costco rep at Melody toyota was very helpful and presented the costco pricing right away and didn't try to upsell or force me in to buying things I didn't want...so that was really helpful.

FWIW, I had an Extang Trifecta on my SR5 and when I traded it in for my Sport, it came with the factory tonneau - and I think it's much better (easier to open, doesn't leak, stronger, and the corners aren't peeling up...), YMMV

Oh nice I went to Melody as well. They're very straight up and honest, no BS, it's a breath of fresh air compared to other dealers.

Has anyone ever purchased from Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa CA? Their prices are 3k off MSRP and it seems too good to be true. I'm in the process of trying to buy one from them, but being 5 hours away makes this a little tough. I'm trying to avoid the worst case scenario of bait and switch. Also, im trying to get a DCSB sport 6MT Tech & Tow for under 38k OTD, does anyone have a reference for a dealership anywhere along the coast from LA to Eureka?

In the bay area, if it's too good to be true, it often is. Definitely call them first. They probably can't legally advertise a fake price, but when you drive there they might have additional fees they don't show. Santa Cruz Toyota tried to tell me DMV and doc processing fees were over 1000 dollars. I walked right out. As you might've seen just a few posts above, Melody Toyota is pretty good. They're in San Bruno. When I went they were sort of blunt and brusque, but they didn't pull any shady business. I asked for a breakdown of prices and they gave me a sheet that showed everything, even dealer holdback and other stuff. I would call them and just ask them what they can do for you. It's nearing the end of the month so you might get lucky.

I've already started the finance portion yesterday and asked for a OTD price sent to my email with my zip code for tax cost + fees along with all the features of the car. However, the fleet/internet sales person is off today and tomorrow. I guess I'll just have to hope for the best. I called Melody and they said that they can't compete with that type of sale. I've spent way too much time looking for this new truck.

In S.F. bay area they won't drop $1,00 from MSRP, I ended up keeping my 2009 and bought a SUV for day by day.
PS. now with the interest rates creeping up the market may slow down.

Hopefully they give you a good price. Can't do anything about tax. I think my DMV fees were 500 dollars. Doc fee is flat at 80 bucks in California. The destination fee is normal, every tacoma has it, you can try haggling it but I sincerely doubt they'll budge. Toyota Dealer Advertising is the next thorn. Mine was just under 700 dollars. Other than those fees anything else is just dealer BS. Try to aim for 300 over invoice or less. 400-500 is decent. Good luck man.

Looking at 2017 Tacoma's now, I'm sure no dealer will like me when I offer 15% off cash now. But the US is a big place.

You dont mess with the Monroney sticker. Doing so is just asking for a lawsuit because everything that the car comes with is listed on there and everything that they are charging for is listed as well. If a dealer knowingly misrepresents that, it is a lawsuit.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I figured it out, there were two sticker sheets -- one from the SE distributor, the other from dealer add-ons. I missed the second one.

    Here's the sticker:

    sticker sheet.jpg

MSRP $38,736. Again, paid $34k OTD, or around $32k before tax.

$38k MSRP for a SR5? That dealer must of added a lot aftermarket stuff to that truck.
